What to Request? -- Dealer Settings

For those of us who are going to be picking up our 2010s ... what should we know about the dealer settings? I ask b/c in the past the reverse beep could be disabled by the driver ... now it seems the dealer has to do so.

Any other things one should ask the dealer to set? Just wanted to know for sure b/c I'm buying from 200 miles away and don't want to have to pay the local dealer to set anything.

Can all doors work from driver's door?

Even with the default setting Unlock Driver's Door Only on first push, all doors will unlock with a second push, so the alternative seeting option would be all doors unlock on the first push.

Also, the door unlock behavior is configurable by the user. Steps are in the manual.

I don't have my car, so I wouldn't know.

Here's what I'm having done:

Wireless remote unlocking operation—customized setting of “all doors unlocked in 1-stepâ€

Unlocking using a key—customized setting of “all doors unlocked in 1-stepâ€

Reverse warning buzzer—customized setting of “beeps onceâ€

Seat belt reminder—customized setting of “OFFâ€

The owners manual (section 6-2) has around 2 dozen settings you can have customized.

There are some settings that are user changeable (which doors unlock with SKS, automatic door locking and unlocking, for example) that I'm just going to do myself in case I want to reverse them.

Great List! This is what I will have done with my car as well.
Beeping once for reverse makes sense, beeping endlessly is annoying.
I want all the doors to lock or unlock automatically.
My 84 year old aunt has trouble opeing the manual lock in my wifes Honda Fit Sport and it only will unlock the drivers door but locks all doors at 9mph. The locking part is good although if you unlock the car at speed it will not relock it.
So I need everything to lock when it's in drive or moving and unlock when i stop and to unlock when I press the SKS.
I don't want the seat belt reminder either.

Thanks, will they all unlock as a setting tho? My aunt frequently needs my wife or I to take her places so she sits in the back.
She likes being chauffered. She has trouble with the locks and such, so it's easier if all the doors open at once.

Yes--you can program it yourself--instructions in the owners manual.

My Honda Civic Si would do something similar. Only it was when you hit 9mph the doors would lock. Then shutting off the car the doors would unlock. I really liked that. This sounds similar so it should work for me. Our Fit is a PITA in that it only will unlock the drivers door. You'd think I'd remember to unlock ALL the doors so everyone could get out but I often forget.
Having it linked to the shifter would be great!

As a person of the female persuasion, I'm not so sure the automatic unlock of doors on park is such a good idea. I'm thinking of security concerns. Scenario: I go to Walmart at night. I pull into a parking space. Just as I put the car in park, I notice a suspicious character nearby. POP! my doors unlock.

I guess it would depend on where you live. Around my area most people don't bother to lock their houses when they go out and more than a few of my neighbors leave their keys in the car even at the store. I wouldn't do that especially downtown but many do. The Walmart is open the latest of any store in town except for places that have alcohol on the weekends. We actually don't have Bars per se' in this town.
But if I lived in the Boston area I would probably have the doors set up differently.
It's good that it can be custom set.
