Whats the duration of the factory warranty on the main traction battery?

Whats the criteria for Toyota to replace the traction battery? After all, any slow degradation in the battery will show up as reduced mpg, which one can defer by attributing to changed driving habits, environment, gasoline etc.

So, does Toyota have any test procedure to asses the state of health of the battery?

If you get codes saying replace the battery and take it to a dealer while still under warranty, they replace it. Otherwise, no codes, no new battery on their dime. Even if you know the battery is dead/dying, if there are no codes, they can't do anything.

i believe in ohio, it would be 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. they do have a test procedure if you want to pay for it.

Anyone priced a replacement cost from a Toyota dealer?
How about a reputed 3rd party? (although I am loath to do that option).

Or I could just suffer gradual decline in mileage .. but it is good to make informed decisions.
