I have a 2010 Prius (previous rental purchased at 41,000) that I had to replace the front left wheel bearing on @ about 76,000 miles. The bearing is now part of a hub and bearing assembly and is over $300 + $160 for installation. Covered under my warranty for $50. Is this common? Possible causes? What else should I have looked at before my warranty expires in 15,000 miles/ or 6 months? I replaced brakes and rotors all around-not surprised as it was a rental.

    Thanks!

Take a good look at the right wheel bearing too. Change the transmission fluid now if not already done. The issue is well documented here. Assuming the brakes were flushed when replaced, replace your coolants. As a whole people abuse rentals and this would be considered "extreme" driving conditions by anyone's standards.

I have 82,000 on my 2010 (purchased mid 2009) and just lost my Hybrid system water pump, will get back from the dealer at no cost. Oddly enough this year was not part of the recall. I have not had any other issues so far -
