So I reply to a post and submit it.

    THEN

I reply to another post in the same topic. No one posted between my 2 post.

My 2 posts are combined in to one post with seperate quotes....

I first noticed it a long time ago. I kind of like it.

Replying to your own post - or someone else's - works as a bump.

Yeah me too, it made me look like a forumcoolgeek able to multiple reply with minimum effort, woohoo!

Hey, now showing my ignorantgeekside what exactly is a "bump" different folks seem to use it differently?

When watching [Adult Swim] a bump is the black screen with white text funny things before and after the commercials.

On forums, from what I can tell, a bump is when you add a post to an old thread to make it return to the top of the "View New Posts" list. For example, if I posted a question last week but no one answered, I might "bump" it again this week to see if someone will respond the second time around.

That's the way it's supposed to work. It keeps you from having a whole bunch of posts from one person, unless other people post in between.
