When your windows are wet with rain and you slide them down and up again, do they wipe off the water

We have a 2013 Prius 2. When I lower and raise the windows, they don't wipe the rain off, so the beaded water on the windows makes seeing the side-view mirrors difficult.

Is this how others' windows are acting?

    thanks.

Just coat them with the Rain X glass treatment. It works really well!

Yep. RainX. First thing my hubby did when we brought our new Prius home was to RainX all the windows for me.

I've tried that and also found it does not clean the rain off.

I believe it's a 'feature' of the Prius that it doesn't wipe the rain off when you wind the windows down. I suppose it's better than scratching the glass.

I just use Rain X and it quickly clears the rain once you get going. If you need to look out the side windows before, just wind them down.

Rain-X just makes the surface slick so the water runs off due to the airflow. Drove 300 miles in the rain last night on sometimes busy highways DC to NC at 65-70 MPH. Of the 300 miles, I had to use the wipers less than 30% of the time because, once I got up to speed, the water just flew off the glass over the roof. When in use, the wipers were on intermittent most of the time even in truck spray. Now when it poured, I had to use em. But infrequent use helps you not get mesmerized by the constant wiper motion on a long trip.

The Rain-X application was perhaps 3 weeks old.

I use it on the side and rear windows, the headlights and the outside mirrors too. Maybe every few months or immediately before a trip. Helps with bug splats, ice and snow too.

Do get your HVAC system on the defrost mode so conditioned air is keeping the inside of the windows free of "fog".

Doesnt RainX warn against using it on plastic headlights? I think the alcohol will damage plastic. As a side note, I find RainX to be eating rags. A RainX soaked rag will turn into shreads in a few months.

I have the sunroof package, just wondering, should I put Rain X on the sunroof and the solar panel area too?

Not recommended. That's a plastic material and VERY expensive. RainX is meant for glass.

Sorry, but you're wrong. I confirmed with toyota that the moonroof and solar panel are both tempered glass. They both even have Temperlite etchings.
