When I went on my first Prius test drive I thought it was the weirdest car I had ever driven, well after buying my 2010 II and putting 7000 miles on it in a couple of months I am now sure of it. But now it feels normal, at first I drove it trying to set mpg records, drafting etc , now I just drive it like a normal car enjoying the fact that I getting great mileage without trying, I seem to enjoy the car more now.

Could it be that you've crossed over to the weird side? Welcome to the club.

There will be time, anything other than hybrid or electric will be abnormal.
Have you seen steam powered cars lately?

Sometimes when I am driving on the highway and all these "normal" cars are around me I think "They don't they get it." "They have no clue."

I wouldn't have nearly 40,000 miles in hybrids if it weren't for the fact that my company deposited one in my parking lot.
    My Usta-Car???
Was a 97 Chevy Cavalier with lunar mileage.....so yeah. I didn't put up much of a kick about it.
However (comma!) you may rest very well assured that it was NOT love at first sight!!
When I showed the car to my dear wife, she wound up naming it.
    "Goofy"
In fact everyone in my family will point to the odd G3 rolling down the road and say "Goooofeeeey!"
I’m not ashamed to admit that my first impressions about the car were waaaay off.

It's still a goofy little car, (**) but we're at peace with each other and I ever entertain the thought of getting a personal G3 or a Pip every now and again......even when the Yaris-like seats make my sciatic nerves a little twangy. Or the Radio fades....or I can't adjust the sunshades....or I go to adjust the outside mirrors..or I look in the rear-view mirror...or..... :D

(**) Some people are challenged in life by an underdeveloped sense of humor and something of a Napoleanic complex when it comes to their cars.
Yes. I'm fully aware that the government classifies Priuses as a "midsized" car, because it's a hatchback.
    If it's big to you...then I guess it's big to you! ;)

I spent the first 5k miles trying to get the best mpg, now I drive normal, and still get 44-47mpg with my snow tires on, 50 with the 17's. I love this car.
