I bought my first Toyota in 1976, and have never been without at least one in the family at all times. Picked up my new Magnetic Grey Touring two weeks ago. I don't know why I didn't make this purchase sooner.
Already did the full bra, mud guards, window vent visors, cargo tray, all weather mats, Cargo net, pulled the plastic wheel covers and put on the new centers for the painted alloys. The window tint is scheduled for Wednesday, and oh yeah, my plate frame that says "Hybrid Power" "Prius Kicks Gas."
This car handles great in the winding canyon roads I drive, and is so quiet on the freeway. Every time I drive it I discover something I didn't know, and I call it my entertainment center on wheels.
I find the forum information is great, and I look forward to learning more about my new Prius.
    Thanks,
    Toyota Fan
    :)

When people ask me how I like it I say I have one regret--that I didn't do it sooner.

I have had Toyotas as long as you have and when my '03 Corolla was in a crash I dithered about the Prius because of the cost. It took me awhile but I'm on board for good!

Interesting post. I always marvel at the "Should I, or shouldn't I" posts on here. Just do it. You WILL NOT be sorry. What is there to worry about?

    Too many mpgs?
    Too few emissions?
    Toyota quality?
    Comfort and space utility?
    On road performance?
Squashing blind people? Well, maybe that one...or get a giant subwoofer.
    Too many fun gadgets?
    Ridicule from un-informed "others" ?

Come on people. Once I actually saw a Prius up close, I thought about it less than a week, went on carsdirect.com, and had my car the same day. Never looked back. I'm also an ex-hot rodder, and still love booting my Impreza around the auto-x. But buying the Prius is really a no-brainer. Once you do it, you'll also ask "What took so long?"..like the op. Every day I'm amazed at the other cars on the road that are not Priuses, Prii, or whatever.
