    Here's to hoping!

I hope that all the big car manufacturers come out with excitement with just not their luxury vehicles, but their brand new efficient ones too.

    Like maybe the Volt 2?
    Maybe the Mitsubishi plugin Outlander?
    Hopefully the GenIV Prius?

What a perfect spot to show everything.

On the off-topic side of things:
I expect great movie trailers (X-Men)
Some Wii U commercials of Nintendo games to help save it
Boring xbox and ps4 fps games...
    Definitely luxury cars

I hope Toyota announces the ns4 or more importantly the gen iv!

    What do you guys think?

Nah, I say it's too early for them to begin talking about the Gen IV when I personally feel its release is more than a year away (my guess all along has been May/June 2015 as a 2016 model year).

Last year Toyota seemed to stay out of Super Bowl advertising.

Don't even remember an Ad from Toyota.

I don't know if it isn't wise. Seems like a lot of money to spend for a one time "high profile" spot.

I think it better to make a creative, great Super Bowl quality commercial, then simply show it any time. I actually think Super Bowl exposure is over rated for given results.

I've seen some great Super Bowl commercials, but 24 hours later does anyone care that it aired during the Super Bowl?

Make a great commercial and it will work for you ALL the time.

I'm eagerly awaiting the Budweiser Clydesdale commercial where the Horse breaks it's leg and the guy has to down 3 six packs to get drunk enough to mercifully end the horses life.

Since everyone will be freezing their asses off, I don't think anyone will care.

IMO, Super Bowl would not be an audience for any hybrid commercial, especially for a Prius announcement. SB WOULD be a correct audience for a Ford F-150 or a Dodge RAM truck commercial.

The best thing the super bowl does is clear people off the ski slopes making for great skiing.

Yep, hybridcars.com just put out a brief article stating the Gen 4 coming more than a year from now. That would put it on about a 6 year cycle, ouch! Heard it was 5.5 years between gen 2 and 3.

After Toyota ran a Prius v commercial bunch of times during 49ers / Ravens game, some dude wrote newpaper reader opinion article 'bout how much he hated the stupid Prius v commercials, over and over.

So, no, Super Bowl crowd is not all into Priuses.

Don't hold your breath on this one - I'm not expecting any announcements on Gen IV until late this year - with some rumor mill stuff thrown in during the meantime.

I usually have to work during the Superbowl.
    This year was no exception.

But a "fun" tradition I have come to enjoy is coming home late, and then finding the Superbowl ads online. Usually one or more sites will collect all of them and allow you to watch all the ads.

I actually find this more fun than continued re-analysis and re-commentary about the Superbowl.

The Ad I saw from Toyota, was The Muppets being picked up by a guy in a Highlander.

It was okay. Maybe not the best Superbowl ad, but decent, nostalgic, and funny. Was glad Toyota didn't go with "Jan" and the Toyota Dealership Lobby. At least it was an attempt to creatively stretch, that did NOT involve stop action figures or a scary looking "Multi-Man". Or "The Game Of Life" idiots, and/or singing Tree's.

    I'd give that Ad a B- or a C+.

That used to work better when the game started earlier. Now, people can crowd the slopes most of the day and still get home in time to watch the game.

Not normally a TV sports fan, this year I made an exception. I watched a whole game for the first time in many decades, and was well rewarded.

After the Safety in the first 20 sec of the game, I tuned out and went back to my diversion. Getting back to work on solving the Unified Theory of Everything!
    I'm getting close! :)
