    Hi ya'll,
where did you have your windows tinted ?
    I get conflicting info. here.
I've heard Huper Optik is good - 399. dollars......as well as dealer tinting. 214. dollars (Alamo Toyota in San Antonio)
    Any advice appreciated.
driving a new '07 Prius package 5, with Nav.
don't want the tinting to interfere with the nav. system.

    Thanks !

I'm also in San Antonio, NorthEast area. If you're around, let me know and I'll try to get together with you so you can see my tint. I got FormulaOne Pinnacle series, I think it was 15% on all rear windows and 35% on front installed by Mobile Tint who moved and is now located in Universal City on Pat Booker Rd. They did a great job and I'm really please with it, I'd definitely recommend them. I also had them put the Lumar protective film on the headlights and foglights. The Pinnacle tint is also ceramic tint like Huper Optik, but is not as stiff of material and its a bit less expensive. I still have the samples too, so let me know and I'll show you my tinted Prius to see how you like it.

    A couple of ideas:

    1) Make sure that the film they use to tint is of a high quality.

    2) If you're concerned about tint interfering with your NAV, think about a GPS antenna mounted to the roof or under the top corner of the front window.

What? The one on St. Elmo? I got mine done about a month ago for $139.99. Between me and my wife, that was the 6th car we've had them do. Lifetime warranty on all of them.

I guess $99.00 tint on Zarzamora Street is the cheap stuff? Also,I'm in San Antonio during the day and Rio Medina at night. I find that if you do not tint your windows, then the police do not grab their gun when they walk up to your car after you get pulled over for speeding in a hybrid.

Champion Toyota in Austin uses CarToyz and I used them (through the dealer) and it looks great.

Just remember that after a while, cheap priced tint may begin to look cheap as well. It's better to spend a bit more to get a good tint and not be frustrated in two years or so when your tinted windows turn purple, bubble up or peel.
