 I am wondering what to expect for winter mileage. I just bought a #6 2008 Prius. Being up here in Maine, any thoughts?

Depends on the kind of trips you typically make. If you are mostly driving short trips of only a few miles, you will see a bigger hit. With mostly highway driving the impact will be less. For example my commute is only 4 miles on suburban roads so my mpg dropped from 48ish in summer to 37ish in winter here in DC, but for highway driving I was getting approx. 50 mpg all year long.

How would you describe the bulk of your driving in terms of trip length and highway vs. local roads?

So if I have a 12 mile commute that is mostly highway, I should get decent mileage?

I commute about 30 miles each way to work. It is rural, 35-50 mph. Some hills involved, plenty of potholes.
