Agreed. I drive over 40K mi/yr for my job. My old car was a Honda Accord 22-25 mpg. I have more than doubled my mpg with the Prius, a little higher tire pressure and synthetic oil.

I thought the less you drive the more gas you save. Did I miss something??? :)

NegaLiters (fuel not purchased or consumed) has a higher value. It makes no sense to "drive more" to supposedly increase efficiency. When we transition to PHEVs, negawatts (power not used) are more valuable than watts. This was resolved years ago by the Rocky Mountain Institute and in early Priuschat discussions.

    163,000 on a 2005 pkg 9.
Already saved between 10% and 20% of the vehicles purchase price. Compared to other cars I was shopping for at the time; Acura TL avg 25MPG or Honda Civic avg 34 MPG.

I agree! That's why I have a Prius in my garage.
