My only major complaint with my new Prius C was that carrying my bike was a pain. That is now over...almost.

As of this afternoon, Yakima has verified fit for the KingJoe 2 & 3, KingJoe PRO 2 & 3 and the Quickback 2 & 3 for the Prius C.

I stopped by REI after work today and picked up the KingJoe Pro 2, which comes equipped with a bottle opener  Unfortunately I opened the box and found that it was a returned model. It's still in almost perfect shape, you can just see that it's been attached to a car before. I might return it, just on principle, but we'll see. Does anyone have any experience with these racks? Are the Quickbacks worth the extra cost?

The directions were pretty specific about setting the clips ABOVE or BELOW the turn signals, so I wasn't sure exactly how it was supposed to be installed. So the seats are down and the bike is inside the hatch for another day. I'll call Yakima tomorrow to get fitting instructions.

I called and got some advice from the guys at Yakima. Pretty straightforward install. So far the rack seemed very solid. I've only put one bike on, so far. This weekend will be the true test. I'll be putting on 2 bikes and driving to Ensenada, for the Rosarito/Ensenada ride. I'll take pics and post up how it did.

Here are the pics. I am really liking this rack. I got the security strap (sold separately) which loops around the rack the gets closed in the hatch. It comes with bottle openers (the red caps at the end of the arms). The arms fold down really easily, if you drive around with the rack on without the bikes. Also, it is a nice snug fit, without a bike on the rack I can open the hatch without removing the rack.

I may pull the trigger on this rack this weekend. Still happy with it? How much pressure is on the rear spoiler from the straps? Thanks for the review!

Took this all the way down to Ensenada with two bikes on it. Worked like a champ! I was worried about the spoiler too, but the straps come out at an angle very close to the spoiler angle, so there is not much pressure. Separation between the two arms (with the pads) should be set at around 21".

Thanks for the review! Picked up the KingJoe Pro 3 at REI this weekend. Took it for a quick test ride and everything seemed to work fine. Set the spacer bar at 21 per fit guide. The only concern i have is how visible the turn signals are to other drivers? Need to do a ride behind and check it out next time it's on.

Will keep checking and hoping for those non-permanent roof racks!

Does anyone know if the ski/snowboard attachments will work with these? I know that most of the hitch mounted bike carriers have a Ski/Snowboard attachment option as well? Any Imput?

Copernicus, thanks for the advice on the rack. Here's the Yakima King Joe Pro 2 installed on my Prius C Two.

I'd not that lower pad should be resting on the lower part of the license plate, and I moved it up after taking the pic.

    Cheers,

    Tom

Just curious for all those who have done this with at least two bikes, does it hurt the mileage, and can you notice a difference driving with them on?
