Good evening! I was just reading your post about the Tirerack TPMS sensors. I am just about to order a set of tires, rims and sensors from them but want to be sure I know what I am getting into. In your directions, are you referring to interactions available with the car's display or are you referring to a Techstream device reading?

    Hi Scotched!
I just sold my faithful 2006 prius and got a 2026 plug-in Prius. Could you send me the link to the manuals ?
    Thanks!

Mendel: Is it safe to charge a standalone Yuasa battery with the CTEK charger? The battery is out of the car sitting in my garage and I just got the CTEK mx5 charger. My concern is that the battery isn't vented now. What if it starts putting out gases?

It's fine. Just for giggles when connecting clamps directly to battery's neg post, I blow at it, for the few atoms of hydrogen that may be present.

It's about $650 for the complete system. A lot less than a new battery.
It kept mine going for about 3.5 years, when I didn't have the money for a new battery.
Tell Jack I sent you.... https://sodiumhybrid.com/

Depending on health of your battery, once a year.
Mine started at 11 months, then 8, then 6.... I knew it was just a matter of time....

Toyota stopped selling them over the counter, only to hybrid places....
So I contacted Jack and got the lithium one....
1/2 he cost of one from Toyota...

It kept mine alive for a few more years. I believe the key is to do it before there is an issue.
Like changing the oil before it goes bad.

How often do put the HV battery through the (Prolong) reconditioning process? Aren't they pricey?

Which lithium battery (CDM? Nexpower? Ohm? did you purchase and why? Again, would like to learn from experience.

Learning is good! Whether it's good or bad, you'll always learn something. :)
There may be nothing wrong with the battery.
I used the Prolong reconditioning system. It charges and discharges the hv battery and tries to make it like new.

You have to be careful of the forum. You can get good info. But you have some that don't even have a
Prius, and all they do is complain.
And some think they know it all! They will always come in and try to correct everyone.
There is an "ignore" feature I use a lot. :)

Yes, I see this all the time on stack exchange. I am just here to learn as much as I can. Maybe one day when I am little more learned, I can be of service. But until then, it's nose to the grindstone

90,000 is low. Make sure you change that oil at 5000 miles.
You about due for the egr system cleaning.
Are you experiencing any issues with the battery? Is it discharging quickly? Charging quickly, or slowly?

Sodium ion batteries have been out there for a while. Jack just starting using them.
He sent it to me and I installed it myself. It was pretty easy.
    It's not hard.

I think the battery is working OK? Although I am not sure I would know if it was discharging too quickly. I am trying to get ahead of known problems by planning the maintenance (battery replacement / EGR cleaning).

It's my hope that by performing the EGR Clean before symptoms rear their head, I can avoid damage and minimize downtown / mental stress. This is my daily driver and I gave away the Integra
