Hi Dr. Rock, I saw a post of yours that you have the 2024 Prime with solar charging roof. I have that also, 2025 model, since July. It worked at first, then stopped working some months ago. (at least it doesn't add EV miles, like it used to,) Is yours still working? Any problems? See discussion about it at https://priuschat.com/threads/solar-charging-roof-not-working.257673/ Any comments?
it’s the moron trying to bleed his heat storage tank pump Can I speak with you here? I was hoping you could just explain what I should do like I’m a child lol I didn’t understand the whole node thing When I plugged it in as per the photo in the thread I got a little spark but the coolant went down and the pump kicked on Should I change the settings or the node or whatever it was before resuming?
Objective, empirically science focused - not subjective and argumentative based only on Toyota instructions.
Good evening! I was just reading your post about the Tirerack TPMS sensors. I am just about to order a set of tires, rims and sensors from them but want to be sure I know what I am getting into. In your directions, are you referring to interactions available with the car's display or are you referring to a Techstream device reading?
Dec 2025, 235k miles. Goodbye great Ecopias tires, Hello Michelin defenders 195s slight heavier. Lost 2 mpg. Had slight crash on Hood. New hood heavier, oem ft bumper and 1 new fog. Lost 6 mpg since Oct. New sparks. 1st syn oil.
Hi Scotched! I just sold my faithful 2006 prius and got a 2026 plug-in Prius. Could you send me the link to the manuals ? Thanks!
Hello & thank you those who provided support for my 2020 Prius, which I dearly love, now 16 years old.
Mendel: Is it safe to charge a standalone Yuasa battery with the CTEK charger? The battery is out of the car sitting in my garage and I just got the CTEK mx5 charger. My concern is that the battery isn't vented now. What if it starts putting out gases?
It's fine. Just for giggles when connecting clamps directly to battery's neg post, I blow at it, for the few atoms of hydrogen that may be present.
It's about $650 for the complete system. A lot less than a new battery. It kept mine going for about 3.5 years, when I didn't have the money for a new battery. Tell Jack I sent you.... https://sodiumhybrid.com/
Depending on health of your battery, once a year. Mine started at 11 months, then 8, then 6.... I knew it was just a matter of time.... Toyota stopped selling them over the counter, only to hybrid places.... So I contacted Jack and got the lithium one.... 1/2 he cost of one from Toyota...
hey how's it going? yeah i don't get any notifications of posts to my phone. I only check the forum periodically. Are you still looking to swap wheels? let me know.
It kept mine alive for a few more years. I believe the key is to do it before there is an issue. Like changing the oil before it goes bad.
Which lithium battery (CDM? Nexpower? Ohm? did you purchase and why? Again, would like to learn from experience.
