The Journey:
I’ve been in the Gen 2 platform for 7 years—5 years with an '05 and the last 2 with this '06. For seven years, I’ve been chasing a specific goal: true off-road capability without the "lift penalty." I’ve experimented with every combination of stock wheels and oversized setups. I’ve seen the 35–38 MPG wall that usually comes when you add a lift, heavy tires, and even heavier wheels.
The Discovery:
I’ve finally...

Strange question maybe, I've seen the display on the newer Gen 2s to look nicer than the one on my 2005, is it as simple as finding a display unit from a 2008/2009 and swapping it for the one on my 2005? It looks like it would fit just not sure if it's possible to do. I think the 2008/2009 models have the rearview camera, I already have a rearview camera installed on my Sony Deck using Carplay/Android Auto so I don't need that I'm just wondering about this.
Has anyone successfully swapped a ct200h seat into a 2nd gen? Or maybe camry or other seat that retains the airbag?
Im reading mixed info on the touring model leather seats. Do they make a difference? Would it be worth swapping it to see if it helps?

I need a 12V battery for the 2006 Prius. My thoughts are either go with a battery from Toyota, or I'd like to try lithium ferrous phosphate (LFP, AKA: LiFePO4).

I found a 40Ah one from a brand named Winston that looks to be very similar in size to the Prius battery. However, one of my concerns is cold weather. With Lead Acid (LA) you don't want to let the battery drain or it can freeze and even rupture. But since a car ususally will keep the battery topped off, this may not be a problem....
I do use it for work but I don't carry particularly heavy loads.
Problem is the back end is so low, when I go over the pad type of speed bumps, the exhaust scrapes.
Here in the UK these cars are used as taxis, and carrying 4 people is much heavier than anything i carry?
Can anyone offer a solution? I know you can get spring assistors.. they are like pieces of rubber that sit between the coils.
Also for clarity for newbies, it seems that:
Rims = Wheel covers != Hub caps
The Hub caps are what's in the center and on originals, bears the Toyota logo. But many people confuse wheel covers and hub caps. I'm not even sure rims is a proper term.
My Gen 2 recently concluded its 2+ decades of efficient and faithful service. Among my favorite memories was fabricating removable modifications that allowed for surprisingly comfortable solo stealth camping. It keeps the narrow back seat in place allowing two passengers plus the driver. We used this for two...

Hi there--

Looking to compile a list of cars with rims that fit on a gen2 prius without much modification-- or if modification is needed like spacers then we list those out as well.

How about we start a list that can list out what to look for on craigslist to make these Priuses look nicer.
