I apologize if this has already been answered, I tried searching for "key" and got no results.

Where do you keep your key in your 2010 Prius while driving?

I haven't found a good spot to keep it yet.

I keep my key fob most of the time in my right pants pocket. At other times, (longer drive etc), I place it in the top most cupholder closest to the shifter. :)

I just leave it in my pants pocket - having SKS means you don't have to take it out to open/unlock the doors, you don't have to put it anywhere special to start the car, and you can lock the doors without taking it out either.

My pants pocket. My Prius fob is attached to my key chain. My key chain is always in one of two places: my pocket or the bedside table.

We normally leave the key in the car at night and had the new Prius warning disabled so that we could do that. In the Gen II the key sat in that area below the CD player controls. But in the Gen III there is no simple spot like that - so I'm wondering if anyone came up with something like a velcro holder or had any great ideas on where to leave the Prius key for easy access and use?

(our garage is particularly safe and secure and it would be extremely unlikely that anyone would get to the vehicle to steal it)

I just attached it to my keychain and never let it leave my pocket its not that big of a pain for the keyless entry and keyless start features.

I put my fob on a clip that I usually attach to the belt loop on my pants. I got the clip at REI.

Look for the gated house with an RCMP cruiser parked in front and one circling, you'll know it's me. Neighbor's a consul general. Past few years it's been heightened security, do not know why but I love it.

Yay for efficient use of resources.

Umm.. did you try the centre console tray? or maybe just velcro it to the underside of the bridge.

Or velcro it to the cloth flap at the side of the driver's seat (right side). It's pretty well hidden there.

It bounces around in the center console tray, sometimes dissapears into the abyss known as the center console area.

    I'll try the velcro ideas

I keep my fob in my left pants pocket along with my other keys. Like Tom, it is either in my pocket or on my bedside table. My wife has the other one in her pocketbook.

Likewise with my wife. The real question comes down to the location of her pocketbook. She never knows. The main use of my cell phone is to call her cell phone and locate it by the ring. :D

I keep the key FOB in my right pocket. If I am wearing jeans I keep it in the change pocket on the right. It’s the prefect spot

I used to have a RSA VPN FOB for our corporate network that I had to carry with my all the time. Recently I received an app for my Blackberry to replace it.

It would be great if there was an app that replaced the Prius key FOB using Bluetooth.

i hate carrying keys in my pocket, so my fob stays in pocket all alone. keys, in summer, moved from top of desk (have corner unit type with overhead shelves AND A TWO YR OLD who likes just about anything small enough for him to pack around) straight to cupholder... in winter, it stays in jacket pocket most of the time.

I keep it in my left front pocket. I seldom take it out. After 100,000 miles I discovered you can lock the car by pressing the exterior black button. I noticed my daughter-in-law locking her Prius that way. I guess I should have read the owners' manual.

ahh yes...i can relate. we lost the fob on the SPM last year and after more than 6 months of searching, finally broke down, spent $250 or so and got another one. naturally, a month later, we found the one that was lost giving us 3.

now, the SO who drives the SPM has the 2. one with her and a spare kept in a "safe" place. at least on paper that is how it works. now of the 3 fobs, about 50% of the time, the only one that can be located is the one i have. SO loses regular Fob so often that the spare is used more often than stored away

I have one of those long accordion wallets, so I actually keep my keyfob inside it and zip it up. I've recently started to go back to college and I keep moving my wallet from my bookbag to my purse, so I've found that my wallet is the most practical place to put it. I mean, I need my license to drive right?

Like everyone else, I keep the FOB in my pocket.
