I know I've read it on here somehwere but I'll be darned if any of the word combinations I've tried in the search hit.

Is there a good way to remove the Toyota symbol from the "Nose" or hood if you like?? I'm pretty sure it's just on there with that foam backed adhesive stuff that most body apliques are stuck on with these days. Forgive the tortured grammar. I was going to use a hammer and chisel but thought I'd ask for some suggestion in this brain trust first.
    Thanks,
    Paul

If it is just on with adhesive, use fishing line and a hair dryer. Heat it up and go at it with the fishing line. Take your time. When your done there will be adhesive on the car. Use your finger (not nail!) and rub up as much as you can. Then get some 3M adhesive remover and a soft cloth to get the rest off.
Once you're done, be sure to rewax the nose.

Thanks for the info popsrcr...I had wanted to do this as well, but wasn't sure if it was attached with the little pegs, that's good news.

for me personally, I like the look of a clean debadged car. The way I see it, I know what I'm driving, and because of the unique styling of the Prius, everyone else on the road does too. but yeah, just because I guess (the answer to why is why not) :p

Improves mileage by 0.0000145 mpg due to lowered turbulence and air resistance.

Can someone post a picture or two of the hood w/o the emblem? One head-on and one from an angle would be good. In looking at the hood it appears as if there is a flat spot for the emblem, I want to see what it looks like w/o the emblem first. Thanks.

I'd like to see a pic also.. I'm considering removing my front toyota emblem because I'll be putting a bra on her.

Not sure yet but I'm thinking the hood portion of the bra will fit tighter and create a better seal from water and dirt getting down in there if I remove the emblem.

How about the emblems on the rear of the car? are they afixed the same way? I betcha some people out ther might consider removing them also...

I would be more sure that the rear emblems are on with tape more than the front one.
As for how it would look, just use photoshop.

I'm going to replace it with one of my bowling trophys. Now aren't you glad you asked?

Now there's a great idea for a thread: alternative hood ornaments for the Prius!

Here are some classics that could be used:

And some more, umm, unusual ideas:

Just because she's got a bra on doesn't mean "protusions" aren't a welcome sight.

At least on my MR2 there are 2 prongs that go into the front bumper as well as the adhesive backing. Good luck - let us know how it turns out.

And Paul113, please -- if possible, post a picture of your bowling trophy hood ornament on your Prius!

Looks like the bowling trophy stays on top of the TV next to the rabbit ears with the tin foil on em. The nose cone emblem is located on 2 pegs that fit into 2 small sleeved holes in the hood. and the area that the badge sits on is flat as some astute poster earlier correctly suspected.
So the nose badge stays. :cussing:
    Namaste,
