I see in the manual there are is a hands-free phone shortcut key.

I would just like to be able to say "Call Susie Q on Cell" -- which I was able to do with my cheapie hands-free Costco speakerphone in my old car because my Windows Mobile 6.1 phone supports this. It seems that using the shortcut key I could give the command "Dial XXX (name)" and then maybe have to choose which phone number if there are multiples -- but I can't figure out what key that might be.

Does anyone know what the shortcut key is?

I think this refers to the 1-6 buttons on the non-NAV Bluetooth on the radio face. The owner's manual details how to program these buttons to a phone number. After pressing the 'phone' button on the steering wheel, press one of the programmed 'short-cut' buttons on the radio face, the pre-programmed phone number is displayed, the press 'phone' button again, the pre-programmed number dials.

The nav-equipped vehicles have 18 "preset" phone buttons. I haven't been successful in accessing them through the Voice Command. However, if you press the Phone/Info hardkey, then the Phone softkey, the Speed Dial button will be available, even whilst in motion.

Or if you simply hit the voice button, say dial by name, then say the name, you skip one layer of voice navigation.

    Nathan,

So I don't have to say "PHONE" at the first prompt? Can't wait to go home for a number of reasons and I'm adding "Gotta try this" to the list! :D

I say "dial by name" at the first prompt- you can skip the "phone" step. Also you can bypass the navlady by pressing the voice button immediately.

On the second screen of registering a phonebook entry there is a button to allow you to turn on voice recognition for that contact and record a voice tag. Until I did this for the first one the system just told me voice command was not active on that screen, unfortunately it was happening on every screen.

The phone voice comands are all we get here in Oz, voice commands for Nav, audio and climate control appear not to be programmed into the system.
