Received my full set of mats on 11/18 after ordering them on 11/8, so 10 days for delivery. Super Happy with the Grey color in my Dark Grey interior. Yea!

    Cargo Liner observations:
    • Fits well on side and top edge by the seat back.
    • The edge by the hatch opening is slightly wavy and looks like it has been unevenly cut. But this is noticeable only if the edge is folded flat. Not so noticeable viewed overhead.

    Back Seat Mat observations:
    • LOVE the design and full coverage of this mat. Completely covers the back seat carpet area. Any clean up will be a breeze.

    Front Seat Mat observations:
    • Easy installation and hooked into existing clips.
    • Great coverage.
    • Driver's side mat moves around just a bit when my foot is pushing against it. This doesn't go down *over* the Toyota mat, does it?

Overall, vv happy with purchase and color.

Congrats, R2! I'm super happy with mine as well (went with the black in my dark grey interior).

I concur with everything you've said vis-a-vis the first & second row mats (did the cargo through Toyota). But pleasepleaseplease make sure you've taken out the other mats first before installing the WeatherTech ones!

Oh yes, no worries on that. The original carpeted mats are out of the car, except for the cargo mat as I haven't figured out where to store it yet.

Thanks for your concern! (love PC forums!)

    Regarding your Toyota cargo mat:
    • is it the black rubber one with the Prius logo and split to allow access to the under storage area?
    • if yes, is it actually two pieces or one piece with a fold crease?
    • if two pieces, is it still protective enough to stop fluid leak?

    Respectively:
    • Yes
    • Two pieces
    • Haven't had to test it yet
    ;)

The two pieces fit together in a tongue-in-groove fashion, so there is some overlap. However, any significant leakage is bound to find its way between them sooner or later.

You all convinced me to buy the mats. Now does anyone know where I can get good seat covers for the back?

just got the mats for my two week old 2010 and I am not happy with them. I do not plan on returning them because of the cost and because I think they are the best available at this time, My problem is that they are not as shown in their ads and web site. The rear border is very low as is the boss surrounding the place holding hooks. I fear that melting snow is going to spill over at the rear and the carpets will soon be saturated. I should know in a few months and will post an update. They do fit perfectly and I detected no plastic smell. Shipment was very fast.

What I usually do in sloshy weather is to grab a handful of paper towels when I go to MacDonalds/seven-eleven/starbucks. I just toss the towels on the floor. When they are soaked, I wipe the floor with it and throw them out at the next MacDonalds/seven-eleven/starbucks and replenish with more paper towels.

It is not the most stylish way to do things but it gets the job done every time and I have a clean floor all winter regardless of the amount of slush that I carry in.

Thanks for the suggestion of the seat cover for the back seat, but I was looking for something a little nicer. They are mainly for when the grandkids are riding back there.

    Rod,

FdL, WI, huh? My roommate's from PdC! :D

Back to your original question, though, we had a similar discussion on the Phaeton forum about the same concerns. The general consensus was a Hefty three-ply trashbag with some breathing holes poked in the top for comfort was the best option. (Just kidding, of course!)

    Hi all,

I rushed to get the floor liners in gray for my GenIII Prius. They had no lasting smell and grip quite well. I am very happy with this purchase as we are already in the slush up here in Ottawa.

I got the whole set of weather tech. Front, back, cargo. The front and back mats work fine.

The cargo mat is a tight squeeze. If you are standing at the back of the car, the cargo mat is like a big square with wings on the bottom. Everything fits quite well except for the left (driver side in the US) wing. The left wing is a little big and I can squeeze it in but I say it is not a perfect fit. I don't know why it isn't because it does not seem so difficult to just design it to fit.

So I am happy with the front and back. So so with the cargo mat.

Now I have the Toyota mats/carpets, don't know what to do with them.

Are your mats the digital fit or the all-weather? My digi-fit were a perfect fit - not a mm too big or too small.

I agree that the front and back are fitting perfectly.

It is the cargo liner I have a problem with.

I checked on the weathertech site. My front and back are digital fit.

They only make one cargo liner.

    http://www.weathertech.com/store/mvproduct.aspx?ItemGroupId=1&VehId=654&Year=2010

I think the problem is that the mat was cut for a Prius with a symmetrical trunk - that is, the left side is identical to the right side.

My 2010 trunk is not symmetrical. The driver side wing area is smaller than the passenger side wing area. Weathertech probably did not update their cargo liner. Maybe it is not a high volume sales item. So while the passenger side of the cargo liner fits fine, the driver side does not fit so well in the wing area. I want to cut it but then I would lose the lip which would contain spills. I'll just live with it.

This is strange, as I have a cargo mat sold under the Toyota Brand (in Canada) and it looks exactly the same as the one from WeatherTech (only the glued logo changes). I conclude that it is made by WeatherTech.

It fits perfectly but can be cumbersome: you can't fold it to access the storage under the trunk floor (not enough flexible, it keeps unfolding itself) and it does tend to get stuck in the two wings at the rear corner of the car (need to grab the mat corner itself to be able to fold it to access the storage under the floor).

    This in interesting.

Could you take a look at your Prius the next time without any cargo mats. Are your two wing areas exactly the same size?

In my car, the left side is smaller. The wall closes in a bit and there is an overhang cliff.

sort of like if it were symmetrically, it would be like this \____/ (side view)

Mine has the same floor space but because of the overhang on the left side, looks like this /____/ (Side view)

Maybe in my part of the country or my country, Toyota had to add extra equipment in the trunk on the driver side?

I'll check too, it may be the gas filling tube.

I found the Weathertech cargo liner a tight but very good fit in temperate weather. Now that it's cold, the liner is stiffer and harder to stuff into the rear "wings," but it relaxes after the car interior is warmed up. Front and rear floor liners are mighty fine too.

I intend not to access under-floor storage frequently, but for seldom-used stuff (hoping for never-used): lantern with charger wired in, strap for regular tire if spare is in use, spare fuses, fire extinguisher, 1 qt each of oil and washer fluid (in leak-proof containers), etc. I have the Toyota organizer for that space, but it will get trimmed as needed to accommodate needed items.

    "Digital Fit" Winter mats

Once in a while something comes along that is so much better than the alternatives. I rarely plug a product, but I am very impressed with the Weathertech Winter mats. If you live in the Northeast where they use lots of corrosive road salt, then you know how hard it is to keep that slush and brine solution out of your carpets and sheet metal. Most Winter mats are a sheet that just kind of lays on top of the carpet. There typically is a gap between the sill and the mat.

These things are like a deep tray that literally fits the contour of the floor and walls of the sill and tunnel perfectly. Very little gap remains. MacNeil hit a home run with these. They are the "cats nice person".
