Agreed. I don't see any purpose in going to a site one has no interest in to "evangelize." The problem with evangelizing is that it closely resembles trolling...particularly when one becomes overzealous.

If that happens, do what I do: pop them in the beak

    Works every time

    Waste of time and effort

Eg: there are folks out there who believe the earth is flat as a pancake. No matter what polite science demonstration you try to use, they refuse to believe you

There are also folks who believe we are under the control of aliens and mind control "beams." Perhaps we are, judging by how nutty some folks are ...

I find it interesting we both showed Pics of the Cat 797, at the mine I worked, (Goldstrike) we started with the Cat 777, then upgraded to the Komatsu 830E. When I wanted a Pic with humans for perspective, the nearby Round Mountain mine had better perspective pics.

These trucks are too large to transport by public roads and are assembled on site, each takes about 11 months to become active. Ours used electric trolley lines to go uphill out of the open pit, and regened into the trolley lines going down into the pit. Once out of the pit, they used diesel generators and electric wheel motors.

Pat, your toy trucks and 3 piece semi-trailer are an embarrassment to big. Witness my ride:[IMG]

    Technical data ? My pleasure.
Occasionally a local yokel thinks the bird is hungry, and places a vehicle across the tracks for consumption. The rail-runner grabs the snack with barely a slow-down. ;-)

Even more complicated when the somewhat smaller trucks are sent up north to be used at the various diamond mine projects. They have to be sent up in winter, on ice roads

I know the earth isn't very flat -- I can see my mileage going down every time I have to climb one of those damn hills!

Yeah, this is a Kenworth, the Macks blow the black smoke because people mess with the emission controls.
