So, im sure ill get banned again for posting this in the forums but i dont care. I currently moderate on another forum (powerstroke.org) and cant believe how the non-prius conformists (lifted diesel truck owners and other truck enthusiasts) are treated here. We get a lot of members over there on our site who dont know anything about the diesels, but we welcome them anyway. they have debates with our regulars and dont get banned, or get the infamous priuschat "the server is too busy, please try again later" message, which in my mind is a chicken shit way to ban someone. act like an adult and let us know why we were banned.
ill never own a prius, and that is my choice. most, if not all of you will never own a "monster diesel truck" and that is your choice. we buy what we want for our own reasons and it should be left at that. it is possible for hybrid owners and non-hybrid owners to co-exist on different forums. if you are willing to give it a chance. I am more than willing to come here and learn about your cars if i am allowed to do so.
we came here to defend ourselves and our right to own and operate the vehicle of our choice, and then get flamed and banned for our views and purchase decisions. those of you who cant deal with that can go away and get bent.
If you bought a prius to help save a buck then good on you. if you bought one just so you could justify your complaints about those of us who dont drive one, then up yours.
There have been a few of the priuschat members that have signed up on our site, and are more than welcome to be there. they have been 100% respectful and openminded to what we like and we have been the same to them. WE WELCOME EVERYONE, REGARDLESS OF WHAT THEY DRIVE!! we wont flame you/ban for you giving your opinions unless you troll or break our code of conduct. its too bad we arent welcome here becasue of a few selfrightous, arrogant, close minded individuals. if you are one of those people, be sure to report this post, and have me banned. that will just validate the above statement and my opinion of you.
If any of you wish to contact me, you can find me at powerstroke.org. my name is Rob and ill be more than happy to discuss anything with you.

Are you that desperate for traffic and ranking that you need access to Prius chat members? I guess its hard to find enough red neck pickup truck drivers to support a site? Can't you place an ad in a J.C Whitney catalog or something to generate some members?

    Rob, we also welcome everyone.
Although I am not a moderator here, I can tell you I have seen a number of people that are downright hostile towards hybrids post here. And when the do so with facts and reasoning, the discussions are interesting.
Those that get banned, from what I have seen, are those that throw around insults.
If you take a look around some of the recent posts, some of the people from powerstroke have started some interesting threads which have led to some really good conversations.
There have also been a few where people have been very emotional and insulting. Those appear to be ther threads locked and likely some bans.
I do hope you will continue to post. Hearing from people with different opinions is much more interesting than 100% agreement.

Sendconroymail, Oh i most likely could, but i dont need to. I dont go around recruiting bud. I simply felt the need to voice my opinion where people like you dont like it. Do you feel the need to nag, and call names to make your small ego a little bigger? I bet you are one of those tree huggin city folk who cant see a need for a truck, or understand the simple concept that someone prefers to drive something other than a prius. Thanks for coming forth and letting me know who you are, so i know i havent misjudged you in any way. i would hate to think i was judging a book by its cover. I know there are some open minded people in here. please feel free to post.

I hope you will read all you want at PC. You might learn some facts about hybrids that you didn't already know. You will also find that the only time you'll have problems is when you play "games" or bait members...not a good idea just as it's also not a good idea to go to a truck site and bait/criticize its members. Some Prius drivers have been intemidated on the road by big, aggressive truck drivers and they have expressed frustrations as you would ...so again I say :welcome: if your intentions are to learn. :)

Very funny how you denigrate someone for name calling and then do the exact same thing. Good stuff.

I assure you i am not here to rack up a post count, or bait others. all we want is for everyone to be openminded to our likes and vehicle preferences. San Carlos, please come back when you can see the difference in name calling and a simple but effective way of telling someone i hadnt misjudged them. Ill see you all around the forums. thanks again for the welcome and i will peruse the TOS this weekend. Im sure it is very similar to ours at powerstroke.org.

Well, RobsF -- if you're still reading, congrats on having the
energy to run a forum, for starters. You might want to also
poke into CleanMPG, which is mostly fuel-economy enthusiasts
but encompasses all kinds of drivers and owners -- everything
from tiny golf-cart electrics to full-size semis, and we've got
plenty of truck and SUV owners that are just looking to improve
in various ways. It gets interesting when people start comparing
techniques between an Insight and a big diesel pickup, which
has happened. We talk about traffic a lot, we rant and rave
about road idiots sometimes but interlace it with chat about
racing and deep tech topics and crazy aero mods and energy
infrastructure and whatever else comes up.
    .
[Does this count as recruiting? I just hang out there, I don't
    hold any vested interest it..]
    .
Anyway, worth a look if you have time. A lot of us believe in
balance too, but are always trying to gently shift toward the
economy side vs. the speed-n-power side. In any vehicle!

Because I see what you are doing, and trying to pretend your intentions are for "good discussion" are annoying. You mentioned your site to get a more favorabe ranking in google (We all know how that works). Your also trying to increase traffic to your site because annoyed prius chat members still generate ad money from impressions created. Piss off and get a life.

My first posts on PriusChat were tentative forays into a room of strangers. As such, I was brief, direct, and open to the new world of Prius drivers.

As a newbie, I did a lot more reading of threads, than of posting. This was not unlike the experience of thrusting oneself into a large room where everyone is already talking & seems to know one another.

Therefore, I am quite repulsed by your comment of sketching out a scenario, and telling us "then, up yours." I have not taken your words out of context -- your long-winded paragraph is posted for anyone to read in its entirety.

You've now established yourself as an individual whom I would generally avoid, and of whose opinions I would give little credibility.

That's the part I don't get. How could anything that someone with internet access types repulse anyone?

If you are repulsed then you may fit into the catergory i mentioned earlier. We can still be friends though.
Sendconroymail, how do you do it? How is it possible to know what I am up to? Have you ever thought just for a moment that my intentions may be good? I don't care who goes to my site. Really. I'll come here to visit you in my free time though.
I look forward to some conversation I the future with the members who can accept me being here.

Depending on the generation of Prius, yes. Here is the GenIII (2010+).

p.s. you might want to avoid the Global Warming threads.

RobsF-350, I'm looking forward to some genuine posts from someone from Powerstroke.org. and hope you find the modification forums interesting.

Keep in mind we're talking about a small or midsize hatchback here, not a truck- so the modifications are not as extreme- unless you want to look into the PHEV conversions- then you're talking big bucks and major mods.

I've yet to see anyone put 36" wheels and an 8" lift kit on a Prius...and drop in a diesel engine, but, if you do, I want to see pics.

Hi Rob and welcome. I hope you can maybe answer a few questions that a some of us have been wondering about. There was one (maybe a few?) 6.4 PSD owners who claimed that one of the premier tuners can allow, with proper tuning, for the DPF to be removed with a decrease in both PM and NOx. This seems contrary to what we know is possible. Could you please point us towards some emissions certification results, or to where we can learn more about how this tune works? All I know is that supposedly he's one of the premier 6.4 tuners so I hope he's been discussed on your forum and that you know who I'm talking about. Thanks,

    Mike
