On my 2004 I kept the headlights on at all times. With the dimmer switch turned all the way up I was able to see the instrument panel fine.

On the 2010 the instrument panel is, for all practical purposes, blacked out when the headlights are on. Today it is dark and cloudy and it is raining. I want to be able to keep my headlights on but I can’t.

    Is there a solution?

The dimmer switch has to be turned all the way until it clicks, that makes the display stay full bright, same as when the headlights are off.

Paradox is absolutely correct...rotate the wheel until it "clicks" and you should have FULL BRIGHTNESS...

And your lights should turn off, 30 Seconds after you leave the vehicle...(unless you changed the default setting) via the dealership.

When you restart, they will be on once again...;)

Yup. Do exactly as you did on your 2004.

As discussed in another thread, the dimmer switch changes the display abruptly from dim to off -- before it's turned all the way down. To see the display (day or night) your dimmer needs to be turned up.

Many thanks, somehow I was unaware of the extra click available. All OK now.
    Thanks again
