    Hello everyone!

I just thought I'd say hi. My name is Scott and I just got a used 2008 Prius. I'm really excited and I love driving it. I plan on eventually converting it into a plug-in hybrid.

So far my favorite thing is when the engine shuts off or turns on. I fell in love with electric cars in the last year of highschool back in '99 when I got to sit inside an EV1. I'm happy that I finally own one, well hybrid but still it's almost the same thing. :)

I got a red one by the way.

Oh I was curious about something. Have most of you kept your Prius(how do you say it in plural form?) for a long time. I hear people who have cars with 300,000+ miles on them and they still run great. Mine is at around 46,000.

Welcome to PriusChat Scott, great car you have there.
The plural of Prius is Prius, yep, I'm ready for an argument with the mob that say Prii.

I'll be keeping mine for a very long time, I had my last car for 14 years. I also bought my Prius used, A great way to get a great car and save some coin.

    :welcome:

Enjoy your Prius. I have had mine for about three months and am still enjoying it as much as the day I picked it up.

Pat is correct. Toyota says the plural of Prius is Prius.

The Latin scholars say the plural is Priora.

    Let the battle begin.

    Again.

Sure, but I'm pretty sure that it was a Japanese guy (or gal) who came up with the name.

Hehe, thats interesting, that the plural is Prius.

I'm really loving my car so far. In fact, I took the car in to a toyota dealership to get the ipod adapter installed. I got 70MPG from what the comcuption graph said. I was suprised. I think I have a handle on driving in EV mode now. I can get my car up to 40 without the gasoline engine.
