Our Dear Leader, Barry Hussein Obama, in a directive
Memorandum for the Heads of Executive Departments and Agencies 3-9-09 | The White House
back in March said :

...

(e) Each agency should have in place procedures to identify and address instances in which the scientific process or the integrity of scientific and technological information may be compromised; and
(f) Each agency should adopt such additional procedures, including any appropriate whistleblower protections, as are necessary to ensure the integrity of scientific and technological information and processes on which the agency relies in its decisionmaking or otherwise uses or prepares.

...

Ummm, I wonder if he will even mention the recent developments in climate science, mush less insist that his own directive be honored, as he proceeds to Copenhagen.

Just sayin'.

This is where I agree with Evan... in an individual point of view. As people read and understand the opposing views and good science they will make up their mind and do the appropriate thing in their eyes. When people get things shoved down their throats (via legislation) based on iffy science that could potentially harm the economy of this nation and or the world that is where the divisiveness comes from. It will only continue to divide this country which we don't need. I am not saying ignore it either. We just need people without an agenda doing the science.
I thank those like Evan that have gone before and invested in this technology (hybrids) that have allowed it to become mainstream. I never thought I would be driving one but I am now. It just makes logical sense for me. More and more people will come on board because it makes sense not because they are forced to. Of course higher fuel costs will help that along.
Just my 2 cents.

Let's see:

Al Gore created AGW

Al Gore created the Internet

Ironic that one would destroy the other

The rumor is that he had sex with Jessica Alba as well. (I don't know where that one started.)

Regarding the logic and illogic of some of the recent banter:

...We're in a dire situation -- or so we have been told. To review, the catastrophes, and their solutions, are composed of these five (more or less) basic steps:

(1) The planet is getting exponentially warmer; (2) this exponential warming is caused by man-made releases of CO2; (3) because of the exponential warming, man-made CO2 releases are causing and will continue to cause unprecedented worldwide calamities; (4) to prevent these cataclysms man-made CO2 emissions must be immediately and dramatically reduced; and (5) the situation is so serious that individual nations must swiftly pass strict laws controlling CO2 emissions and international treaties must be quickly signed that insure that all countries are required to reduce their CO2emissions.
...

Furthermore, all five of the steps I have outlined above are based on what is known as sequential conditional logic.[ii] This means, put as simply as possible, that if any of the first four steps is false then the remainder of the arguments (or argument) that follow the first step found to be false are (or is) also false.[iii] (This may seem counterintuitive - but think it through. Go through each step, assume a step is false and then see if you can prove as true any of the others steps after the step found to be false.)...

The above teasers from:
American Thinker: Probability and Global Warming
As they say, read it all.

You can thank me later - if you see any truth in it.

How does a directive to US federal agencies have anything to do with the actions of British citizens at a British university?

The ODS is strong in this one.

It's all on page 86 of the Communist Manifesto.:)

Perhaps you've heard of the EPA? The EPA fully agrees with the findings of the IPCC, the reports of which are mainly constructed, monitored and maintained against the assault of truth by the very Brithish citizens in question. Those same British citizens collaborate with like-minded colleagues in the U.S. at places such as NOAA and NASA.

Uh - Mann is still using the flipped data in his new paper and your other chart shows HadCrut data spliced on the proxy record - firstly a scientific no-no and secondly, we now know CRU data has been monkeyed with.

Yes - there is man-made global warming. It was created by men at Hadley CRU. :p

Hate to pick nits, but it's Mann-made warming, and he's at Penn State. So technically, it is supported and promoted by the CRUminals at Hadley. :D

Love it! We'll credit you with Mann-made global warming and CRUminals. Good work!

One other one - maybe you (or others have already said it):

AGW = Al Gore Warming.

Modesty (and truth) prevent me from claiming Mann-made, I've seen it, but can't remember where. But thanks for the other.

Don't forget they also, as per the emails, looked at ways to minimize prior era warmings (such as the medieval warm period) so that later warmings would look more dramatic. So it is not just about temperature data from the instrumental record.

This is a ridiculous statement. First, the "known history" is quite short - the only really good picture we have of this region is literally since the satellite age. So our history is quite limited. However, we do know from the historical record that areas in close proximity to the arctic - such as Greenland - have had much warmer climates than today. Furthermore, we know past sea level has been as high or higher than that of present day.

Sshhhhhhhh...

Alric, Icarus and Fibb222 are collaborating on a paper, "Hazards of Global Warming from A to Z."

Some loathsome person hacked their E-mails and leaked the result so far:

A ~

Acne, Increased Temperature, and Sebaceous Glands :
Human body maintains a temperature of around 98.2 degrees F, it is the ideal temperature for your body. Slight fluctuation in the scale of temperature may occur temporarily during exercise and other activities. Your body works efficiently at 98.2 degrees F. Sebaceous glands and sweat glands are heat sensitive and rapidly produce their secretions. Thus, persistent rise in temperature results in increased activity of sebaceous glands and overproduction of sebum. Overproduction of sebum mixes with dead skin cells and clogs the hair follicles and acne breakouts occurs.

Beer: Climatologist Martin Mozny of the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute and colleagues say that the quality of Saaz hops - the delicate variety used to make pilsner lager - has been decreasing in recent years. They say the culprit is climate change in the form of increased air temperature.
