Broken armrest on driver side door. Anyone know how much it will cost to fix?

As the thread title says, the armrest on the drivers side door on my '08 is cracked (under the fabric, right where your elbow would rest). Now, from what I can tell looking online, it's actually permanently mounted to the inside door panel which means it's not something I can buy separately.

Any clue whether this would be covered under warranty? If not, any clue how much it would cost to replace? I haven't been able to find any info on cost anywhere.

    Thanks.

Make sure to check for salvage part price/availability before paying too much at the dealer. This is a repair that can be done by any good mechanic. JeffD

I contend that it IS covered by the basic warranty (unless you caused the damage by misuse, abuse or alterations).

One reason why I think it is covered by the basic warranty is that I do not see it among the express exclusions of either the basic warranty or the stricter Toyota Extra Care Platinum Plan extended warranty.

But be prepared to argue your case to your dealer and Toyota.

If this is not covered under warranty, then it looks like the repair would be pretty expensive since a new door panel costs $780 if cloth and $900 if leather. So looking for a salvage part would be a great idea.

Thanks everyone. I guess I'll call the dealer and start working on a warranty replacement.

I just priced a drivers side door panel for my 2009 gray pkg 5 ....as low as $702 at Frank Toyota parts in National City, Ca. and $750 in Chula Vista Toyota, elsewhere $800 and up for San Diego area.
My door panel was "jacked up" by a window tint installer. They broke the tweeter and tried to glue it back on DRIPPING GLUE onto the plastic part of the door panel.
My insurance is covering the repair, the tinter covered my $250 insurance deductible. The tweeter cover was $38 and labor was estimated at around $100.
You could contact me if you are interested in my old door panel.

Unless I got the part wrong, you can get the door panel at discount online places like parts.com for $486 cloth or $560 leather, plus $73 ground shipping:

It's all the parts shown in box 1 below:

Very nice of you to offer it.

If anyone is interested, here's loupitou06's excellent DIY instruction pdf with photos, about removing the door panel and reupholstering the door armrest. It seems that you can take the armrest off though it's mounted with melted-on screws, and rescrew the armrest back on:
