I just bought a new Prius III and the dealer is prepping it as I speak.

It has the Navigation package and apparently that drops the CD player from 6-CD to 4-CD.

I'm not as good as some of you at negotiation; I paid full sticker price. The dealer got me for Simoniz ($795) and service and handling fees ($389). I drew the line at something called Identity for $395 so they took it off. I also got them to throw in the cargo net and to install for free the body side molding when I get it from the PC Store.

Bottom line out the door is $29,039.64, please don't tell me I got raped. I mean it, please don't tell me. :(

I just ordered the body side molding and requested a quote for the extended maintenance.

I asked the dealer if they offer a two-week course for new operators. :D This is going to be a serious learning curve for an old fart like me, but between the dealer and you good folks I'll probably catch on.

Thanks to the forum owner and all the members for your inestimable help in this selection. :cheer2:

If you are happy with the car, you paid the right price. Don't sweat it, and enjoy the Prius! I have the Model III with Nav as well, and I love every second I spend behind the wheel.

Congrats! I wouldn't worry about the price...all the haggling in the world usually only saves you a few bucks a month. Taxes are the real killer...you haggle the price down a few hundred bucks and then you get hit with $2500 in taxes...kinda kills the haggling buzz, haha....enjoy your car!

Congrats on the new car! You'll pick it up in no time. It's not too much different from driving any other car...well, except a lot fewer stops at the gas station. ;)

    Congratulations.

    I hope you enjoy it.

I didn't know that the Nav takes up two CD slots. Now I know. On the other hand, with NAV, you get Bluetooth sync for music so not bad at all.

I have a IV and I paid sticker. None of the dealerships in my area would negotiate on price. The only additional thing I added to the IV was the (platinum) extended warranty - bumper to bumper on everything up to 100K miles. Knock on wood, I won't need it...but in case I do, I know that for the next 6 years (or so), I will only be out for routine maintenance things. Out the door I was around $31k.

By the way, I wouldn't worry about trying to get the last dollar squeezed out to get the best deal...because if you (a) keep the car for a long time, the difference will be in the noise, and/ or(b) decide to sell after a few years, the high resale value on these cars will help ensure you get a high % of it back.

    CONGRATS and enjoy the car.
As for the price, you paid the RIGHT price as you will be more than happy with it.
I got my 2010 V 3 weeks ago and I can not be happier.
I also thought that they stiffed me and I guess that is a normal thought for everyone right after we buy a car. I paid for mine out the door $32,780.00 for the V model in Blue fully loaded and I am very happy with it.
ENJOY the CAR and you'll see how much more you will save on gas!.
    Congrats!

    Thanks for the encouragement, folks.:)

I really was't bitching about the price I paid. I live in a town of about 10,000 and there is one dealer. The next nearest dealer is 120 miles away.

hsiaolc asked what color I bought, it's Blizzard Pearl. This was the only Prius in stock and the color was OK for the southwest. It had just the right mix of options.

Much More Better said pictures are required. I'll post pictures in the Owner's Photos thread after the blizzard abates. We're expecting up to 12 cm of snow today and wind gusts to 130 kph.

I've been reading through the two owner's manuals and I watched the DVD. It's going to take a while to absorb all the new technology. After they delivered it, I moved it into the carport. It took me a while to figure out how to start it and shift it into gear. It was dark and I couldn't really see much; the interior lighting sucks buttermilk.

Last August I paid $1000 over, but it was that or go to a dealer 80 miles further away ...
or get nothing. They were in short supply near the end of the "clunker" program.

The thick manuals kept putting me to sleep, so I never finished reading them.

If you want, PM me with a phone number and I will call and chat.

    Welcome,
I have the same model, options, and color, and I really enjoy it.

Yeah, I paid sticker for my '10 IV w/Nav. They were (and still are) difficult to find here.

ARGH kill me. I am SO Jealous of you.... Everytime I see a new Prius with that colour my heart bleeds!!! I just love the Pearl White. The rest of the colour are just too normal and nothing exciting. Silver is the worst. Dark Grey ok. Blue is hmm not that great either. Black I like but Pearl White just stunning.

    Congrats.

Turn on the Interior Lights above on the Light Control

As for night time driving, it's actually pretty cool....

You will see once you get used to it. And the Front Footwell lights are cool as well....You'll learn all the features eventually.

Sliding the light switch will turn on all lights in the car, except the Rear Hatch Area.

    Enjoy your new car! ;)
