Have you checked Brodit? Take a look of what they have for the new Prius at www (dot) brodit (dot) com (can't post links).

I used one of their mounts before and I was rock solid!

I just noticed that ProClip and Brodit is the same thing!!

"ProClip USA, Inc. headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, is the exclusive North American distributor of ProClip vehicle communication accessories. ProClip products are manufactured in Karlsborg, Sweden by Brodit AB, a company that was established in 1983 to provide communication mounting solutions for vehicle interiors."

Thanks for the help fellas! I just went ahead and got a Kensington LiquidAUX Car Kit Iphone/Ipod 33429 with Remote for $22 shipped on ebay, and I also checked out Proclip's Padded Holder with Tilt Swivel ($34.99) and their Prius ProClip Angled Mount ($29.99) but have not purchased yet... I'm so cheap I'm going to see if I can live with just the Kensington Liquid Aux, but knowing myself, I'll eventually give in to the 2 Proclip setup. But seriously, why are 2 plastic clips almost $70!?

My second day in a new ride and its freakin' pouring out there... damn it!

Wow, nice price. That's a pretty good kit, I use it too. One warning, you will periodically find (I do, at least) that it pops up and gives you a warning about not being designed for iPhone when you first plug it in. It doesn't happen often though. When this happens, you can just click NO still get the audio out, but the remote won't work. That doesn't bother me because I use FlickTunes instead... At any rate, it seems to be some sort of handshake problem between the two devices. I've found the following procedure will usually restore full functionality:

    1) Unplug the cable from the iPhone.
    2) Unplug the unit from the power plug.
    3) Reboot the iPhone.
    4) When the phone is done rebooting, plug the unit back into the power plug, then the cable back into the phone.

Hopefully they've fixed it in a later rev of the product. :)

Well, I don't have an iphone, just an ipod, so hopefully it will work out well...

If its the same kensington that I have, it will work fine. sometimes I have to turn my ipod(nano 5g) off, or iphone (3gs) to pause on music for the remote to work, otherwise its fine. if its an earlier version than mine it may need a ground loop that kensington will send you for free.

I'll change my hu fairly soon to get better sound, ipod functionality, backup camera, etc, but this works fine for now, and allows your passenger full ipod functionality.

I flip open the top cup holder, set the bottom of my iPhone in the groove where the lid closes and lean it up against the flipped-up cover. No special holder needed. Just don't get in an accident.
