I like the XM traffic and programming, but the support people appear to be incompetent. Check this out:

    1. Bought Prius, which has 3 month trial
    2. Called XM to transfer the remaining 4 months on the account in my old car to Prius so that I would have 7 months left on the Prius account. Rep was very friendly and said it was no problem and was done.
    3. 4 days later, service is still active in old car. Called XM and found out the first guy did nothing. This guy is very friendly and says no problem, everything is fixed. Asked him to confirm several times and he confirmed that the transfer happened as I expected. 1 day later, the service stopped in the old car. Yay!
    4. 4 days later, I received an email saying that I canceled my xm service. Looked up my current invoice on xmradio.com and sure enough, my account was canceled and the pro-rated fee for the 4 remaining months was credited back to me. So now I only have the remainder of my 3 month trial on the Prius.

I've heard the horror stories about these guys but this is ridiculous. I guess I'll have to call back when I have more energy or just wait till my trial ends and squeeze another $77 deal out of them like I've done the past 3 years.

    This is normal.

I had Sirius in my old car. I tried to cancel. They told me there was a 50% cancellation fee. I just let it run out.

I had the 3 month trial of XM in the new Prius. I added the Siruis channels for $3 something a month. After the 3 months they called me and wanted over $22 a month for XM and Sirius channels. The company merged over a year ago but they can not get their act together.

$22 is more then I pay for basic cable. I told them no way and canceled. I hope they go out of business.

Welcome to the sleazy world of XM/Sirius. Be smart and walk away.
