I'm at about 94k miles, but am taking my prius in early for it's 100k mile service due to some convenience issues. I've reviewed Galaxee's thread and I think I know what I want. But, I thought I'd run the list past the forum to make sure I haven't overlooked something.

Comments welcome, I take her in in about 4 hours:

Maybe change inverter coolant pump? (not sure which pump #13 is)

If car runs fine then is alignment really necessary?

I think the alignment is a good idea, hasn't been checked in 30-40k miles.

fuel injectors could go either way... if you've got concerns about misfire or poor gas quality, then absolutely. if you go for it, make sure they don't just stomp on the gas pedal to run it through. that could overheat the catalyst.

they may ask flush prices for the drain/refill due to the time it takes- just make sure they don't try to run an actual flush on the cooling system.

check for evidence of leakage at major oil seals.

No further service advice, but a request of you: I'd like to see an itemized bill, since my 100k is coming up soon and I have to choose what all to do myself.

Each to their own, but I am a bit surprised to read that some of this service work is not a Diy for you. E.g.,
A throttle check is very simple, and might make a cleaning superfluous. Bob Wilson has up a nice page if you need instructions.
Transmission fluid exchange and PCV replacement are also straightforward.

    Sage,
Some of it is, clearly, within my abilities, but since there are a number of items that are not and I'm taking it in I chose to just have it all done there and then.

I think I'll go for the FI cleaning since, I haven't been good about my other service checks. Thanks for the advice Gal.

Regarding #13, is this the coolant heat recovery system pump? Do you plan to have the engine coolant replaced as well?

Yes, the heat recovery system pump. Did I neglect the engine coolant...yep, need to do that too.

We should do a poll on what Evan's service will cost. Lacking that, my vote is $1K.

OMG! Seriously?? The Heat Recovery thing should be under my extended warranty if you were figuring that in.

If your keeping it for a while, replace the inverter coolant pump.

$1500 sounds right to me, too.
M'thinks Evan may have a change of heart about funding his local version of a Toyota dealer stimulus package ...

I think I'm gonna need to pick up a few extra shifts...
Wayne, why the inverter fluid pump if it's working fine?

Knowing the potential cost, you guys still think I'm doing the right things?

In case your 10 minutes is prolonged for a bit, I know Patrick is among those recommending replacement of the inverter coolant pump, presumably because of the number of failures folks have reported in the forums. I'll probably have mine done around the 100K-120K mark.

I think you are having the right things done, but it will be painful to pay for dealer service unless your Missouri Toyota dealer labor rates are much lower than I would expect. Hopefully you'll share the quote with us.
Yes, I think this is a good preventive maintenance move because there's no warning of an impending failure and the cost is not that great compared to the potential damage caused by the failure.

hmmm, I didn't have him do the inverter pump.
The estimate came to $820, but that did not include spark plug cost and I think he's a bit low on some of the fluid change things, but we'll see.

    Brief update:
Got a call yesterday from the service guy asking if they could keep the car a while longer. They need to order the heat recovery coolant pump and get Extended Warranty approval for that fix. Also, they found that my tie-rod ends were "frozen" and are going to need to order those parts and get warranty repair approval for those. So I'm looking at mid-week for getting it back.

    Also, this tidbit:
Service guy:"We noticed some foam stuff stuck in your grill....
    Me: "Yes"
Service guy:"So, is that there for a reason?"
    Me:"Yes"
Service guy:"Ah, do you want us to just leave it there?"
    Me:"Yes"
    Service guy:"Ah.....OK"

We hung up and I enjoyed a big laugh at his bewilderment!

I have a camry with almost 243,000 on it and never had the injectors cleaned, I just add chevron fuel injector cleaner every 6k and it still gets 34-38 mpg.
