The owner of La Mesa Motor Clinic, Jim Arnett, tells me that he and his mechanics are fully qualified to service the Prius. They have serviced my other cars for years, to my complete satisfaction, and I intend to use them for all non-warranty service on my new Prius. Their telephone number is 619-463-7773.

I'm going to try them out next week (12/18/09). Over the phone he sounded OK. I'll report back.

Did you ever go to this place with your Prius? What was your experience?

It was OK. They are a small shop that deals with all types of car and I've also had them work on my Vibe with no complaints. I've been lucky with my 2005 Prius, it has 110,000+ miles and nothing except routine maintenance has been needed - I'm on my original 12v battery and brakes. I'd still like to find a shop that is REALLY into Prius but until then they'll get my business.

Thank you! I plan to give them a try next week. If you ever do find a local place that is really into the Prius repair, please post if you would.
