For 5,000 miles, I had no rattles, then began to notice a creaky rattle. Solved the mystery: I had folded the rear headrests down to improve the rear view. When they are in the down position, there's a rattle. Otherwise not. Whew! I wonder if this will help anyone else.

When I rented a Prius during the summer, I put the headrests down, thinking that they would block the view. But now that I have my own Prius, I have realized that the headrests really don't block the view at all. So there is no need to fold them down unless I need to fold the rear seats.

I think this must depend on the driver's height. I'm short, and I definitely see a little more out the sides of the back window when the headrests are down. Not a huge difference, but noticeable to me.

I have the rear headrests down almost always. I have a doggie seat in the back that hooks on the back headrest. I'm 6' 1" and find the view out back quite a bit clearer with them down. Every little bit helps.
What I find more irritating is always needing to peer around the rearview mirror when making turns. It's REALLY too low. Understand it needs to be at that level to properly view through the back window, but needs a technical review by Toyota in the 2011.
