Well, I haven't been on regularly since June and that is because I sold my Prius on July 30. I am now driving a 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT. When I drive it on cruise control at 70 I can get 26mpg highway and at 80 driving like a jackass my best was 20. On a roadtrip from San Diego to Phoenix with the top down the whole way at 75mph I recorded 28mpg. Not bad for a 3.8L iron block V6 and a 5 speed sporttronic puttin down 260whp

    Why the change?

    Nice Eclipse, by the way!

Prius was a great car with a lot of great features... want to wait for a true EV or Plug In Hybrid but mostly the fact that I'm 20 and wanted to drive somethin sportier

    Yeah, that's a sweet ride.
Prius ownership is optional, by the way. Case in point, It took Danny something like two years after starting Priuschat to actually buy a Prius. And that was only after his Honda convertible took a nasty spill down a hill.

You mean when Danny pushed it down the hill to collect the insurance? Oh, I wasn't supposed to say that, was I?

lol... mixing up Danny's and Nichole's rides, are we?

I believe Danny had a black MR2 and Nichole has an orange Element.

Sweet! The Eclipse as always been the underdog. The latest one, while a little portly, is a stylish imo. You can also lower the seat all the way down, recline the seatback and "cruise" because the doors are so tall hahahaha

    Ahh, I see.

BTW, unless the car's modded, it's unlikely you're putting down 260 whp (wheel horsepower). There are driveline losses. IIRC, it should be on the order of ~15% for a manual.

(I've dynoed my former 255 hp 02 Maxima w/an automatic and the numbers were consistent w/~23% driveline loss for automatics.)

It was 260 on a dyno. Stock it put down 230 to the wheels, so far I have an intake, catback, and a tune. Import Tuner magazine took the same car and installed intake, headers, exhaust and had it dyno'd at 291 hp and 280 ft lbs without a tune... Headers are my next modification

Hey man, you gonna show up at next year's Mitsubishi Owner's Day (MOD)? Gonna have to hold it down with us Evo guys (especially those of us with over 400AWHP).

To take this thread off-topic ;), since you mention Evo, I'd imagine you might've heard of the policy change below.

This is also affected by the type of dyno being used. For example, it's widely known that a Dyno Dynamics will typically read rather high, while a similar Mustang dyno will read significantly lower.

The warranty work for Evos has virtually always required the approval of a district-level manager. Most people accept the fact that modifications that increase any type of performance necessarily void the warranty by placing components under additional stress.

I basically expect the warranty to be void the second I change any stock engine or suspension component off of the car for a third-party aftermarket part (for example, a TRD supercharger should not void a Scion tC warranty, and it does not). The same goes for the Prius. Got to pay to play.
