I just bought a 2010 package 4, sunroof/nav/solar for $30,400. It joins two other Prius's in our family and all of them have been stellar. My color and package showed up on the truck while I was visiting my dealer. It followed me home.

More importantly... how did you teach it to follow you home so fast? Even with dogs it takes longer than that.

I'm in upstate NY (Albany area) and the best quote I received so far for a Prius III with nav and solar roof is $26,750. Anyone think there is more room on that price or is it a good deal? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

That's a pretty good deal if that includes the delivery charge. I got mine with the security system installed ($359 value) for about $30 more. And it came with mats but I think all of them do and are added to the price already. You're still well under MSRP, probably about $1400+ I believe.

Thanks, it does include delivery and mats. I may actually throw the idea out there about the security system to see if they will put it in but glad to know it is an ok deal.

Last week, I purchased a 2010 Prius III with one option (floor mats) for $23,219 including delivery charge. Didn't really need floor mats, but it was a good deal. MSRP was $24,530 and dealer invoice was $23,119.

Anyway, there are deals out there.

What was your final OTD cost?

MD sales tax, MD tags, MD title, and processing fees = $1727

OTD was $24946. Since we're allowed to right off sales tax on Federal Income Tax, I should be able to recoupe $1399.

Well you don't recoup the whole tax amount since it's a write off. You just get to deduct that amount from your income so you end up recouping the amount of federal income tax you'd pay on $1399. Unless I'm wrong, which I could very well be.

is there a tax decuction for buying a 2010 in 2009? I thought the tax deduction was no longer available for 2009 because of the amount of vehicles Toyota sold?
    thank you

I believe that you're refering to the Federal tax credit on hybrids. And yes, the Prius no longer qualifies since Toyota has sold more than 60,000 units.

However; you can write off/claim the sales tax on your Federal Income Tax for ANY new car purchased before 12/31/2009.

Up to a certain amount, I think it's the tax on $49,500 of the purchase price, so all of a Prius. There's also an income level requirement. If you make over $135,000 you cannot do it and at some point it also diminished but I don't remember the specifics and I don't have the link handy... oh yes I do:

Any got finance though Toyota Motor Credit Acceptance (TMACA) when you brought your 2010 Prius? I got my APR 5.5 for 5 years thought TMACA. I was wondering if that is a good rate? Anyone got a better rate than 5.5 on Tier 1 credit for 5 years (60mos)?

As a AAA member, I qualify for 3.95% for 60 months through AAA finance. Also, my credit union offers 4.74% for 60 or 72 months.
5.5% is good, but there is better out there.

Hmm...I guess my APR wasn't that great then. I figure going thought Toyota Financing will be better than outside banks.

Who else got a good APR on 2010 Prius?

The Toyota rates were really high when I bought. About the best rate I could find was 3.94% from B of A. With the best CD rates at only 2%, it just didn't make sense to finance and lose 2% every month.

I also got financing through BOA @ 4.05 for 36 months. Their promo rate was 3.8 but you had to be private banking customer to get that promo rate.

I have been haggling with dealers for the past few days. I keep walking out. I can't get a fair price on a trade-in. I don't want to go through the hassle of selling the car privately.
I test drove a white level II today. We were about $500 away from an agreeable trade-in price. I'll wait to see if he calls back. In the meantime, I'll check out other dealers.

That is a great deal on a level III. I would jump at that price.

    Oh yea, pictures???
