I need to know the iPhone hack that enables owners to unlock the Prius doors and hatch. What's the software and program called? Thanks.

I seriously doubt that such a program exists. It would be nice though!

So, having your keys or fob on you then simply touching the door isn't good enough, you'd rather unlock your iPhone, wait for an app to load, and then hit a 'button' on the iPhone? I don't get it?

Mercedes Benz has an app for the iPhone that connects to it's OnStar-like service. You can remotely lock, unlock, or locate your car via gps. It could probably be possible with a Prius that has the S.O.S. feature but I doubt it'll ever happen.

OK you piqued my interest, I first thought this was another "Hold the FOB up to a cellphone, and have the person you are calling hold the phone up to the car to unlock it question"

Which will ABSOLUTLY NOT WORK, by the way.

I did pick up the phone however and called Toyota, spoke to a fairly informed person who said while the "Onstar" system will unlock a GM's doors, it will NOT do so on the S.O.S. system, it was NEVER designed to do that, and there are no plans to modify the service to enable that particular function....

Which is actually too bad, that would have been a nice "Extra"!!

Oh well Back to FOBBING merrily along!!!

The person you spoke to about the door unlocking feature of safety connect misinformed you. Safety connect can unlock the doors of any Toyota with safety connect and is smart keyed equipped.

Perhaps if you throw it hard enough against a window, although an older brick type phone is better for this application.

It's the same software that makes popcorn with four iPhones.
