Tried the hack to shut off the seat belt beep, but it didn't work on my new '09. Can you help? I wear seat belts, but not while backing out of he drive or at the bank machine.
I want my wallet without being yelled at by the car.

Just bought '09 Prius w/Pkg 4. Successfully applied reverse-beep hack, and driver and passenger seat belt hack.

Question: When I go into Reverse, I experience a delay of between 1 and 2 seconds before the backup camera displays the view.

Is there a hack to have it come on instantly, or at least a shorter delay?

    TIA.

Thank you for your excellent compilation .
Here is some I've found (unfortunately not tried yet since I'm just planning to by one (I'll get it in thursday)
    Keep on guys
Here is some I've found on the net:

    With best regards:

    Clear the Oil Change Code:
    1. Press the power switch to the Toyota Pruis to the "On" position and press the odometer trip reset button located on the instrument panel by the odometer until it reads the actual mileage of the car. In other words, do not have it displaying "Trip" mode.
    2. Press the power switch to "Off" mode while the actual odometer reading is showing.
    3. Press the power switch twice to activate the "IG-ON" mode in the Prius while simultaneously holding down the odometer trip reset button for 5 seconds. You will see a series of 6 dashes that will count down by eliminating one dash until they all disappear and the odometer will display 000000. This resets the engine oil life of the Prius and the

    Activate EV Mode
    1. Take off the bottom portion of the steering wheel cover on your Prius. Remove the flasher plug.
    2. Remove one to three of the connector pins after opening up the plug. Put the steering wheel cover back together
    3. Detach portions of the dash board, including the vents, to allow you to remove the lower portion of the glove compartment. Find the HV ECU plugs and remove the lower one. These plugs are gray in color.
    4. Solder the wire to the connector pin then plug it into ECU plug #27. Splice the EV button ground wire to the ECU plug ground wire #1. Stick the ECU plug back into the ECU.
    5. Run the wire behind the dash board to the dimmer switch. Secure the switch to the cover then solder the wires. Put the dash back together then try it out and see if your Prius works with the EV mode button activated.

Philips screwdriver Jeweler's flat head screwdriver 22 gauge speaker wire, 6 feet in length Soldering Iron
Solder Power drill with 1/2-inch drill bit Electrical tape Momentary switch

Change which doors unlock when you touch a locked door on cars equipped with a Smart Key System. The car's default is set so that the car unlocks all of the doors when the person holding the fob opens the front passenger door.
    1. Know your default setting. Opening the front passenger door unlocks all of the doors. Touching the hatch handle also opens all of the doors, including the hatch.
    2. Understand the way to change your unlock settings. You do this by pushing the door lock button and then the panic button on the fob for about 5 seconds.
    3. Wait for the first beep. After that beep, let go of the buttons. Now the driver's handle unlocks all of the doors.
4.Hold both of the buttons down until you hear the second beep to force the driver, passenger and hatch handles to unlock individually.

Do any of these hacks allow you to view the message (MSG) button on the radio station menu while driving? I don't have the sat/nav system but want to allow the MSG button to work while moving. Thanks!

The "nav system speed override" should allow you to view radio MSG while moving. The fact that you don't have the nav system doesn't matter, as the hack is at the back of the MFD.

is that the one below where you have to redo it every time you restart the car? Because this one doesn't work on my 2005 Prius because I don't see a MENU button or a soft volume button?

Is there a way to stop the beep when pushing the display buttons? the steering wheel buttons don't beep, but the display does.

The beep becomes much louder when you do stereo mods.

I think if you hit display, there is a "beep off" button that appears at the top of the MFD.

It's either under display or info.. for some reason, Toyota decided that having MFD preferences in two places was a good idea.

Sorry, I never saw this reply until now. I was referring to the physical hack where you mess with wires behind the MFD, not the touchscreen method.

The beep disable for seatbelts and reverse worked first try for 2008 Prius.

What is the difference of the key being "ON" vs "LOCK"?

I have two keys that came with my 2008 Prius.

Both are SKS keys and the backup key appears to be orgional (not worn at all and they metal key unlocks the door)

Weird thing is my backup key will not work with the smart entry thingy - I dont care but what I do care about is I cant get it to remotely lock or unlock the car.

I got all of the modes "add" "confirm" to work but the prius "locks and unlocks" the car twice when I try to add my spare key. When I try to add my master it locks/unlocks once confirming it is in the system.

When I go to confirm mode it tells me two keys are registered with the Prius.

The backup key works fine when I put it in the key slot and I can even enter the key programming modes with that key but the remote still fails to activate the locks.

    It is so bizarre.

This should work - toyota said it is not the original key and I need to order a new one but that seems odd to me - if the Prius has it as a registered key then why is it not allowing it to lock/unlock the car?

errr ... yes it is possible!

Had mine turned off last week, no more irritating continous bleeps when you put the car into reverse, just get one beep when I put it into reverse now.
