Anyone having cold weather milage hits?

I don't have the temperature and other values like Tony, but here's my graph.



I started blocking the upper grille during winter last year.

 

I am under 40mpg for first time ai have warmed ub befor driving on several occasions and have etanol in this tank. Pure gas getting harder to find. I use a block heater but starting temp 80 f. Have grill block but not entirely This am it was 27f Oh well still a lot better than others.

 

I hear you. The MFD is showing <50 mpg for the current tank now. The actual mpg is probably nearer 45 mpg. It breaks my heart to be getting ONLY 50% greater mpg than the Prism I traded in.

 

Don't sweat the ethanol. It's an oxygenating agent that significantly reduces conventional tailpipe pollution. It also cleans the injectors and removes water from the fuel tank. Losing a few percent of MPGs is a small price to pay.

 

Just did a ~500km road trip. The displayed fuel consumption was:
4.7 l/100km (50 MPG US/ 60.1MPG Imp).

Other factors:
Temp ~ 0 deg C
Avg Speed ~ 100kph
grills ~ 90% blocked (upper and lower).
New Michelin X-Ice2 tires on steel rims.

I can live with that!
