    ok, already a ton of posts on this subject, but the info is scattered and inconsistent. so we need rules

    ok...forget the rules. post anything

    1) only those who track MFD and pump mileage for ALL miles driven since delivery can post... no single tank info here. put it on one of the other threads.

    post guidelines; this is for data collection only.

    all info is optional

    *date of delivery (guesstimates that are within a one week time frame is fine)

    *total miles driven

    *lifetime MFD figures

    *lifetime pump figures

    *build month

    *LOCATION!!!

    *optional ; last 6 digits of VIN... not sure if this is a wise thing to put on a public forum...feedback is would be appreciated

    *general comment on type of driving. city/highway mix and average distances used for commutes, etc. a short few sentences is all we need here, just a guideline and only if you think its important.

    purpose of this post is to find a correlation between delivery dates and the error in the MFD calculation.

    ok. so i will start.

    VIN ; 00368

    my mileage is posted in sig, so will skip that. my commute is 7 miles, all suburban, mostly 35-40 mph. i am in Olympia, WA (if ANYONE doesnt know that!!) because there are basically 3 small towns separated by a few miles, there is a lot of connecting backroad types where good mileage can be had with much lower level of congestion.

    ok. edited OP since it appears that no one is gonna post anything. so we can now post individual tank figures if you want. still looking to collect data since it appears later builds are much more accurate.

    For some reason I didn't even see this post the first time around. I miss a number of interesting base posts, picking them up when bumped.

    My figures:
    Pumped 192.92 gallons over 10076 miles, for 52.23 mpg;
    Imputed from MID display: 183.57 gallons, for 54.89 'Displayed' mpg;
    MID display for ~200 miles was lost and estimated, due to oil change monkey resetting both trip meters;
    Built in May, delivered second week of June, near Seattle.

    Use has been 90% highway, with 60% of total miles rolled up in a single family roadtrip, averaging higher speed and heavier load than my normal driving. No commuting in there yet, I just became un-unemployed on the current tank. Commutes will be 17 miles each way, mostly or all city (depending on traffic congestion), biased towards bad weather, as the best weather days (up to 2 days/week) will be pedaled.

    Hey, fuzzy, where can I get a pedal attachment for MY Gen III Prius? :D And since I'm over 55, should I see a doctor before beginning this exercise program?

    thanks Fuzz for feedback. intersting that your MPG accuracy is a bit higher than the Gen 2 but not really that bad and you have a fairly early release. your error is less than half mine. i got mine probably 3 weeks before you. what is last 4 digits of your VIN?

    VIN is in the low 8xxx's.

    Wasn't yours one of the Priority Customer units, among the first post-prototype US-market units off the line in March?
