I predict a sizable trembler for Cali over New Years.

I ain't going to post up all the sites I frequent and all the differing points of view from more learned folks than myself, but as an amateur geologist and follower of the circles of scientists in earth sciences and physics, I believe the indicators are there for something substantial...

    There is more degassing...
The frequency of shakers is on a slight increase...
There have been more 4+ events along the coastal range...
The electromagnetic fields have altered slightly...
The new moon is due, putting tidal forces at a peak on one side of Terra...

And now... the largest indicator from the believers in the Farmer's Almanac... the Sea Lions have left the bay...

All these indicators lead me to conclude there is an increased probability of a significant trembler in the greater bay/coast/inland area along our notorious fault systems.

Probably north of the Bay Area... but the south area hasn't fully released yet either, soooo... I could be off by scores of miles.

Either that... or the tequila I had last night isn't fully washed out of my system...

I'm hopeful it's the hooch... but just in case it ain't I wanted to let someone else here hear me before the sea rages in.

I sure hope you're wrong but thanks for the warning. :(
We've got water and supplies including generator. Also will remove stuff from our shelves especially dishes.
Just in case, I'll drink all the good stuff in my bar before it breaks.:D

It's going to be full moon on New Year's Eve... so, you are saying in two weeks, when it is New moon?

Of the thirty or so places I look at... two say the new moon... two say the full moon...

I guess it's a two week window then...

Or should we just listen to the Sea Lions and go with the latter...

I ain't a Kreskin... I was just trying to post something to discuss...

Personally, I follow the electromagnetic flux and increased degassing more than any of the other indicators... I just thought the seals leaving and the lunar timing was an interesting sidebar...

My sister lives in Hemet. Maybe she will end up with beachfront property.

And the climate data tracking continues to be modified for local anomalies....

    Agreed...

Good thing he wasn't in Cali when it broke...

Wonder if that's why I woke up with a killer headache this morning.

Oh, and the full moon is just the opposite of the new moon - both affect tides and gravitational fields. Living on the coast, I'm familiar with the effects of both on the sea.

Have the gophers come out of there holes and worms crawling out? Are your animals looking antsy? caged birds? Animals know by instinct.
