I throughly enjoyed the read. Canadian publication?

I need to look at the publication but it looks as good as EDN.

    Thanks,

Thanks, that was a useful review. Almost makes me want to buy one! (OK, I lied, not quite).

Really good to see that they liked the G3's handling and acceleration. I like my G2s handling, and the G3 is supposed to be even better. After owning the G2 since last early this year, I still enjoy driving it so much that I almost look for excuses to do errands. :)

Also good to see that the reviewer appreciated the acceleration and the CVT's performance. Again, these are features that I really like on the G2, and the G3 improves further on the acceleration, so it's good to see that someone outside of the Prius community also appreciates them.

Interesting that they list as a con "slightly less legroom than 2009". The front seats slide back farther than the G2, so that couldn't be what is meant. Unless the reviewer was refering to the intrusion of the center console into what used to be open area?

My only other thought is that the reviewer was refering to what feels like less legroom in the rear? I've sat in several G3s, and do definitely feel that the rear legroom seems to be reduced versus the G2. It might just be an optical illusion, but I've read where others have reported the same impression.

Anyway, thanks for posting the link.

wow. don't think the author ever drove a lexus if he thinks the cat is lexus like, even the lexus hs250 didn't seem lexus like. It does have some lexus options, and some faux luxury plastics, but that doesn't make it.

The noises the engine makes does make it seem faster than that 10 second waddle to 60. It feels like I am going much faster at every speed than I did in my Lexus. This is not a sporty car, or a luxury car, it is a comfortable car with great fuel economy.

What a awful review. I don't know if they drove the car. They definitely didn't test it as they used toyota figures on acceleration (the ones from 15" tires) and the skid pad doesn't seem right either.

LOL! So do you think the check from Toyota cleared before or after the article was written?

It was one of the most positive reviews of The 2010 Prius I've read, but I don't think it was "awful".

Comparing Lexus Features, is fair. The 2010, especially the package V with Tech, does have Lexus Features.

All the other comparisons to Lexus are made much broader, like "Lexus Like" or "Lexus Flair". I don't think that's misrepresenting anything.

In the total summation he's basicly saying what you said, that it can be "sporty" but isn't a sports car, and has some luxurious aspects but isn't a luxury car. Ultimately the author defines it as what it is which is still the benchmark for Fuel Economy and one of the best Hybrids available.

Suspiciously positive? Yeh, but I'm paranoid.

    Awful...no...I wouldn't say so.

My only complaint is they even mentioned the Canadian Govt. fuel economy figure. It's totally bogus! It's derived using the old EPA methods. The car DOES NOT get 3.8 l/100 km in "real world testing". You'd think after 7000 mi they would have noticed that! Try 4.7 l/100 km. Morons in govt.!

Well he was quoting the average for each country (50mpg under the EPA and 3.8L/100km according to NRC).

Oh well, I use it as a goal I have to reach hehe. We'll see how long it takes for me to get my first 3.7L/100km tank.
