The lower back window is really helpful for visibility, especially when backing. BUT, it gets filthy very quickly in New England winter driving and Toyota has not provided a wiper/washer for that window. I wash it whenever I get gas (not very often!) and sometimes at home, too. Are there any ideas out there for keeping it from getting so covered with road spray, or is it just a design flaw that I have to live with?

    I applied Rain-X. It's better than nothing.

Me too. It's about as much as you can do.

Another Rain-X vite, it is about the best thing you can do but it will still accumulate dirt especially when it rains/snows and the snow combined with salt really makes it bad. But I managed in my 2006 and the 2010 so it isn't all that bad.

Thanks. I'll try the Rain-X. It's just annoying, especially when everything else in the car seems so well thought out.

I know what you mean -- mine was almost impossible to see through after driving through Benton Harbor, MI, the evening of 1/1/10. :eek:hwell: At least the car performed admirably, given the road conditions.

Hey Chris, did you have your rear defogger on? that does not happen on mine. The rain x is sort of a standard thing but the rear defogger work super.

I use Zaino, although I don't know how it compares to Rain-X. It doesn't rain much around where I live though.

Huh? Backing is the only thing I had used it for... prior to the rear-camera. Sitting mostly below the top of the seats, the view is below the field-of-view for traffic.

What do you use it for other than seeing exactly how close a tailgater is?

Clean it every time you fill up. That's what I do. I don't have any other solution.

You don't have to do a great job. Just dump the window cleaner, supplied by the station all over it. Then squeegie out what you can. It does not look good but it is better than seeing nothing.

Me three! Rain X has worked well for me this winter.
