Dimmable Dome light in Prius with 1 Watt Xenon White high powered LED

    Just replaced them with some red 31mm Festoons. Was a bit of a tight fit, but they're in! And it looks quite neat actually :).

    Sorry for kicking this topic up; but since I haven't been able to access my e-mail for a while; I also wasn't able to access the forum for some time.

    The Prius was brought to the garage for refitting the light fitting above the middle console. After that I immidiatly replaced the default bulbs with some neat (red) leds: 2x normal and 1x wide angle.

    Currently done:
    - driver- and passengerdoor white bright led's
    - middleconsole red light's
    - 'makeup mirror' red light's
    - 'knight rider' front leds

    Last step will be to install leds in the rear compartment and perhaps some replacement for the front driving lights.

    Will make and post some pictures very soon! :)

    Thanks, I just ordered the 1.5 dome lights. Now I just need to figure out what else I need to replace all the interior lights to led.

    I just realized a pair is now $7.25 with free shipping. This remains to be my favorite (compare to the ebay ones).

    I just installed some LED festoon bulbs and 5w5/T10 LED lamps in my 2006 Prius. I was annoyed by the battery being flattened within 8 hours after a dome light was left on by my son.
    I've just carried out a few bench tests with the lamps and can report that:
    The current drain of the 5w5/T10 4LED lamp at 12V was 30mA and it produced 1600lux at 10cm axial, 90lux at 90°.
    The current drain of the original 5W filament bulb was 300mA, producing 160lux at 10cm both axial and at 90°.

    Excellent.

    That LED is very efficient. You 12v battery probably need to replace soon. My 2006's lead acid battery has 12.1V with no load and 12.0V with load. It should be able to make it another year.

    Will make some pictures really soon. The weather will also be good soon, so that'll make it easier.

    Latest addition is a new set of rims with some new (winter) tires. The tires are Vredestein SnowTrac 3 and look groovy :).

    Will also post the tires+rims as a picture soon :).
