The vertical net shows up on the Toyota site when I build a car for my zip code. I would build one using your zip and if it comes up with the vertical net then I would have the dealer exchange it at no cost to you.

It does NOT fit, believe me. I tried the one from my 2004 before I sold it.

wonder if it's a specialized part or can it be found at your local hardware store... I have a cargo net from my previous car and would like to finally be able to use it; what's the part number for this kit?

Happy to report that I finally got my cargo net fixed today...FREE. I was pleasantly surprised that it was covered under warranty.

Chris, good to see you again today! It had better have been free, or I'd have walked over there and bitten a few heads off necks! :)

that's nice to hear... inquired at a dealer and they quoted almost $30 for PT347-47100-FK  (since the cargo net itself doesn't have the -FK suffix, I assume it's the correct part number; FK = fix kit?)

Apparently, as someone mentioned before, what options/accessories you have can get is totally dependent on the port through which your car enters. If I build a Prius with my zip (Austin) I don't have the "Cargo Net" accessories available at all. What I see is the "Cargo WEb" which is what we have called the horizontal net. If I switch to California (90210 - yeah I know, but it's the only CA zip I know off the top of my head) I get all kinds of stuff not available in my zip. In fact the whole web page for CA is very different from mine. For my zip i don't even have an "accessories" button, just "options".

I find this sort of regional inconsistency annoying and kind of stupid from a business standpoint. Why in world should one port be any different from another? Anyway we like the "Cargo Web" and will keep it, but I'll contact the dealer to see if they can sell us the real "Cargo Net". I've got a $50 coupon from the Costco auto program for accessories, so why not.

I've been trying to find a similar type of tie-down hook but the closest I could find was d-ring for hanging mounting wires on picture frames, $2.09 for a pack of 12 at target.

anyway, I've got this cargo net from my 04 Matrix that has quick release hooks instead of loops at the top so this worked for me; I wasn't able to use it much in my 08 Prius other than to put both hooks per side on the cargo floor d-rings. here's my fix:

Thanks -- I've been looking for a solution like this so I can use my old cargo net. One question: Do the D-rings interfere with the tonneau cover?

THANKS for posting that there has been a fix. When I ordered my Prius, I ordered the cargo net. It came with the hooks installed and the net, but the dealer warned me not to hook up the net due to the problems with the panels being pulled. They said that when there is a fix, they would let me know and fix it. But they never contacted me about it.

So now that I know there is a fix, I'll ask them to do it when I take my Prius in for the brake recall fix.

Got a new prius and got a vertical cargo net thrown in. However didn't have those o-ring hooks installed and dealer doesn't know about it. Car came from Gulf State Toyota and was offered the horizontal net. I like the vertical net much better. Anyone have any luck getting something similar to the OEM hooks at hardware stores?

So I went to the hardware store to see if I can find a temp fix. There was nothing in hardware/fasteners so I went to electric to find conduit clamps. I got these and bent them as you can see. The tonneau cover still works. This will have to do until I can get the ones from Toyota.

Two weeks ago I purchased a vertical cargo net PN PT347-47101 from trdparts4u.com and I expected to get the net with the new improved mounting hardware. I was surprised that what I was given was the old style that causes panel separation. I emailed the seller and asked if they had the proper mounting hardware and they claim that this is the first they have time they have heard mention of a problem? I also e-mailed a copy of Vertical Cargo Net Installation instructions AIM 001 955-0 (attached) but they still claim that toyota has not informed the dealership that there is a problem?
This is my first toyota, and I love my III Gen Prius, as it is performing beyond my expectations. However, there seems to be some serious communication problems within the organization. I expect that the cargo net fix might cost about $1.00 per cargo net kit and actually save money when new cargo nets are packaged, but why a company would willingly allow customers to be sold inferior OEM products is beyond my level of comprehension.
I am hoping that there are some dealers, or parts suppliers that read this forum. I was wondering:
Is the dealer giving me a line of BS or has toyota really dropped the ball on this problem?

I ordered the exact same thing but from the Prius Chat Store and what I got was the PT347-47101 cargo net with the old style hardware same as you. My net which I thought was coming from PC Store actually came from a Toyota dealership in my state but not in my area so I do not know who has the responsibility to supply the correct mounting hardware or, for that matter, to accept the return. Really disappointed in PC Stores.

Additional: The instructions packed with my net were:

    Issue: A 07/23/09
    Supplier ref. # : 51NS082130TA

Can you help me? I have been trying to get a cargo net from the dealer I bought my 2010 Prius from since last August (Koons Tysons Toyota, Vienna, VA). I was given a "We Owe" document when the car was delivered which listed the cargo net, and was assured I would be notified when the net came in. For months, the Parts and Service Departments simply told me the net was still on "back order." Last October, I started tracking the issue on Priuschat and I have also tried several times - unsuccessfully - to get my cargo net from them. In January of this year, I showed the Service and Parts Departments the Toyota TSB covering the cargo net that I found here on Priuschat, and they were still unable to find any such documentation or part numbers in their computer system.

    Today, I finally called the Toyota Customer Relations (800-331-4331) number and they got the Koons Customer Relations Director to contact me with their resolution;

"Your "We Owe" expired on 9/15/09." and "The 2010 Prius you purchased was not built to equip a cargo net. If you want to have one added, then you may want to see if a dealership in your area can do so. The cost of the part and the installation would need to be covered by you, since it was not something promised by Koons Tysons Toyota."

This is beyond poor customer service. I feel like you are my last resort. Is there anything you can do to help me?

After contacting Prius Stores via e-mail I was assured the net I received was the correct one. It was actually shipped from a Toyota dealership so I know they are in stock somewhere. I have installed the net with the supplied hardware and have had no problem. For your reference the part number is - Issue: A 07/23/09 Supplier ref. # : 51NS082130TA.

I wonder if someone could attach photos of the old and replacement hardware so that I might identify which I have installed?

Thanks, I did that. But the first photo is not identified as the original or the fix. Is the first photo the fix? If so where was the original attachment?
