I use Nero to burn MP3 CDs and they work great in my Prius--below are the settings I use.

I too found this out 3 days ago when I received my new Prius :), solution is simple, just burn the mp3 files (preferred lossles wav or flac) as a regular cd (I use Nero too)
the audio system does copy/rip this to the hdd as mp3 files , I now have to find out how to get the labels automated, to avoid editting the album and songnames by hand.
    I hope this is helpfull

"We don't Have the Hard Disc Version in the USA"

You should consider yourself lucky that you don't have it in the USA. I bet you've got the Loadable 6 discs version?

Our version is a one CD only, plus a built in, 10GB HDD BUT it's a useless, STUPID version as the only way to get music onto it is to rip tracks to it via an audio CD. You can't copy MP3 files from the CD to the HDD unit and there are NO USB or SD interfaces. Complete waste of time and money.
