What do you all call this?

Do you just call it bacon? Or something else, like the Quarter Pounder in France :D?

I've heard it called 'back bacon', to distinguish it from the usual 'belly bacon' that comes in strips that curl up and go crispy when cooked. The good stuff is 97% fat free, and the bad stuff is 97% fat. :)

If the question is answered 60% correct... is it Canadian...

And if you get 66% on a set of questions... does that make you a Doctor in some places...

    :D

    Darn it...

Now someone is gonna say it was influenced by the tequila...

    I'm just saying... :hungry::hungry::hungry::hungry::hungry: I think I have a clue.

You have that kind of backwards, eh?

    So it's still "canadian bacon"?

I was expecting replies from (the people who I've noticed are Canadian):
    1. Tideland
    2. Hyo
    3. jayman
    4. moner

Actually, it can be considered half a sandwich.

I don't think our wonderful neighbors to the north really care about fat content. Consider this:

Hey... we gotta keep our fat somehow... all this hunting and cold weather :D

I was joking but then again I think I have heard Canadian bacon once in a while in a radio ad. I never really noticed since I don't eat bacon often and if I do, I prefer the strips (as much fat removed as possible!)

C'mon.. there's more than 4 Canadians on this site!

Either way, a pig is an awfully delicious animal. I like to think of bacon (in either form) as "meat candy".

The package is Back Bacon, and, the *BEST* poutine to be had is in either Warwick or Drummondville, in Quebec.

If you visit Montreal, Lafleur's, and Quebec city, Ashtin.

Now you tell me after I visited Montreal haha. At least I tried the smoke meat sandwich. God that was good.

If we're allowed to have American cheese that's only barely cheese then I guess they should be allowed to have Canadian bacon that's only vaguely related to bacon.

I sure like poutine, eh! Unforunately there aren't any good poutines out here in the middle / western area.

Back bacon is good on pizza, otherwise I don't really eat it. My favorite Canadian dish is the Big Mac LOL j/k.

    Poutine is probably healthier.

A more healthful regional delicacy is something called a beaver tail.
