    Maybe I missed it...

    Does it use the same inverter as a regular Gen III or a bigger one?

    If a third party was to reverse engineer the Toyota design in the short term (next year) to provide a retrofit kit, they would need to come up with:
    1. A new HV battery pack
    2. A charger
    3. ... what about the inverter...
    4. Mess up with information exchanges on the car's buses
    ... something else?

    Also says what I was suspecting, the model with the 17" rims is more for the auto shows, and the real world demo models will have the 15" rims with the silver accents on the rear hatch and door handles.

    ok now things are getting clear.
    because of the economic crisis Erica Gartsbeyn asked to not recieve her yearly bonus ( guess more then 5,37 mil ) and have a drive in the gen 3 PHEV.
    i can understand that.. anyone would have done that:D

    Well, this is one of those times, where, as a corporate representative, we're never sure quite what to do. On one hand, we thought we'd mention, in a more creative way than just saying it, that some of the demo units have just started arriving in the US. Which means that we're one step closer to getting them in actual consumer's hands. And yes, we had a little fun with this at your expense... and to some of our audience's displeasure.     I hope I speak for many of us by saying Thanks for just keeping us in the loop Doug. If not for some of the info you can and do share with us, we'd be in the dark a lot longer than we are.

    Oh, and you are quite the gentleman Doug, letting Erica drive the PHV around the town first! :)
