I just purchased 17" Motegi SP-10 for my 08. Should I mount 205-45/17 or 215-45/17? I want the look, but would like to salvage all the MPG's I can. That said, ride quality means more to me that MPG's

    Thanks

"Ride quality"....what the heck did you buy a Prius for?:confused:

Hey, the ride is not that bad!! Actually, it's pretty good. I do have the Touring tho? I would go with the 205's if you want a better ride.

I'd go with the 205s. The 215s look cool but I hate the MPG hit. If they every come out with a LRR tire that I like that will fit my 17s I'll do the 20r5s instead of the 215s again. I am so sore with the MPG hit that I put my stock 15s back on and am installing the dB Super E-Spec tires tomorrow to get my MPG back.

I have a Touring as well and absolutely love the ride quality. I have had so many cars in my life time it's crazy, but my favorite is my Prius and just overall how it drives!

Lets see some pics after you get them installed!

Im leaning towards the Cooper Zeons. I've had such good luck with Cooper tires. They make it in both the 205 and the 215.
Hey alexilic thanks for the offer.
I will post some pix as soon as I get them mounted.

the best way is to host your pic online.. flickr, picassa, mobile me, etc.. and put the link in your post. You have to use the little picture icon that says "insert image"

are you saying that the 205s will take less a hit on the MPG compared to the 215?

In theory yes. Less tread width will reduce friction between the tire and road. You may get more sidewall squirm with a taller sidewall but I think the friction is the worse of the two.
