Can somebody please systematically list what Toyota/Lexus vehicles have been recalled in the last few months and for what reasons. I don't believe the 2004-2009 Prius is affected by this latest episode, yet these forums are bleeding with trolls and complaints. It's disgusting.

So let's straighten out this "recall" business once and for all so I can learn about my car and not what the US government wants me to hear.

Go to Toyota Recall Information - 2009-2010 Toyota Recall List for the information you need about the recalls.

The 2010 brake issue is not a recall as of now. Toyota is working with the NHTSA on a preliminary evaluation of the issues raised in owner complaints. Given time, I'm sure we'll hear more about this and in turn pass the information along to everyone.

So there are 2 separate recalls. Floor mats (Gen II) circa Oct 2009 and brakes/sticky acceleration (all others + inevitably Gen III) circa Jan 2010.

But that doesn't explain the recent explosion of Gen II threads claiming faulty brakes/acceleration. THAT'S what I'm pissed about. Where were all of you for the past 5 years?!? Trolls.

There is a floor mat recall for the 2004-2009 PRIUS. That is it, nothing else is listed for the Prius on the recall website.

If you are talking other models besides the Prius, yes there is the pedal recall but that does not affect the Prius.

Yes, I think I made it clear that I understand this. But in case you haven't noticed, 90% the first page of the Gen II Main Forum is about the brakes/acceleration.

And when the 2010 Prius gets slammed in the media, the 2004-2009 will also experience backlash, because the Gen II is even more "Prius" than the 2010 if you know what I mean - it is even more culturally polarizing.

Let the media kill the electric/hybrid car again. But this forum should know better - the members should know better. Instead, it's plagued as well and I'm sick of it.

The pure trolls so common this week should crawl back under their bridges soon.

There are gen2 owners seeing the 2010 press and finally finding their voice to say "I have that in my gen2." The floaty brakes have been known for years, some cars may be worse than others, and if PC can let people vent perhaps Toyota will offer a flash for gen2 as well.

Anyway, it has not been fun alternating between whack-a-troll threads and serious threads. When first post is demand for class action suit, I'm thinking "but I don't want an $8 coupon off my next fuzzy dice purchase; I want Toyota focused on PHEV rollout."

This isn't "Backlash" and i'm not trolling and neither are the rest of us.

Some of us have experienced this for awhile - with dealers that really don't say jack about it.

The Gen II has a problem. I've been to 4 dealers -- all agree my car does it.

I am giving my dealer the fair chance to deal with it - if they don't - Toyota Canada get's a call.

Well my car does not have the problem. I have NO idea what the loss of braking feels like and I feel left out.

You should not drive over potholes and bumps in the road anyway. It will ruin your tires. That's how I damaged my tire sidewall and now I'm super careful when I drive.

There should be no excuse. I may understand if you live in Taiwan, but nobody has a Prius in Taiwan.

One thing that confuses the issue and gives the Prius haters (there actually are people that actually hate the Prius - go figure), is that while the newsreaders are talking about 2010 Gen III Prius braking problems, the stock footage or dealer shots often show Gen II, i.e., "our" cars. I've never had any problems with my 06 in over 91,000 miles, but I get tired of justifying my car to all the haters, mis-informed as they are. The TV coverage isn't really helping. Toyota bashing seems more important than Haiti coverage, now, to the newsreaders. Its just the story of the week, and details get lost in the shuffle.

No excuse? For what? Hitting bumps in the road? Hard to avoid all the bumps in a road.
Taiwan? What the hell has Taiwan got to do with loss of braking when you hit a bump?

Your post sounds more troll than anything I've read here in a while.

Since you live in the Bay Area, if you're ever in Sunnyvale near 101, see my post at http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...99-poll-prius-brakes-problem.html#post1031776. Be sure to look at the Google Street View image. I could easily repro the sensation on my 06 there. Hopefully they haven't fixed the road yet...
