    For my clarification is this what's happening ?

    Brakes;
    With the brakes applied and a wheel or wheels are not in contact with the ground, (This could be a pothole, bump etc.).
    The anti skid senses a skid because wheel stops turning (brakes on) and releases the brake pressure.
    Upon ground recontact brakes resume operating ???????????

    Traction control:
    Car senses skid under acceleration and modulates power to drive wheels. This happens fairly frequently on roads with sand/dirt in my area.

    You're accurate though the highlighted part. But upon the skid sensor triggering what happens is the brake pedal releases transiently b/c the car is switching from "normal" regenerative braking to "emergency" friction braking. Not b/c it's intentionally releasing brake pressure.

    Thanx Dr. Fusco.
    I really don't understand that interaction.
    We've had no troubles with our 2007s. Think we'll wait a bit before considering Gen III again.
