A few weeks ago, some poor guy had an accident from DWO (Driving While Old). He hit three cars parked on the street. One was a BMW that was shoved into my poor Prius so hard that his license plate could be read in my bumper! Damage to my car was not too bad, but besides the rear bumper the front tire was shoved hard into the curb and damaged a little.

Well, the older gentleman's insurance paid for everything, and I just picked my sweet Prius up from the shop. They had to totally repaint her and she looks AMAZING!! Sorry I don't have a picture, but my 2001 Prius looks like a brand new car. They even removed a dent my husband had given her a year ago. It's amazing what a coat of paint will do.

Thanks, Old Dude! I'm in your debt! :)

That's great! It's nice when something good comes from a bad situation.

    Minor correction,

DWO is "Driving While Oriental" those are the folks who go 55 in the #1 Lane, otherwise known as the "Fast Lane"

DWS, "Driving While Senile" is old timers driving!

    Then there's DWIW.

Driving While Under the Influence of W.

Characterized by large vehicles belching black smoke while driving fast between gas stations.

    I

I am relieved you were not hurt in any way. Our Gen 1 Prius bumpers are quite strong, especially for a Toyota. I had a demented senile old timer in a Honda Civic smack into my rear end while I was slowing down to a red light. I had to use my brakes to help him slow down, he was panicked! His front was trashed. My car was inspected by Toyota, they said the frame was fine, and bumper needed a bit of repainting, and that was it. I did not get mad at the old guy, as I felt really bad for him. I am glad our Prius has immensely strong brakes.

I am excited for you, and think a new coat of paint will rejuvinate your Prius for sure. As a dedicated G1 owner, I would be so happy if you can show us some pics of your little guy! Glad you are alright too!
