You understand that there was absolutely no research on my part, right? My entire post was written as a joke and in no way resembles anything resembling the truth.

Heck, the hardest part in writing it was avoiding the phrase "Mr. Toyoda out of the closet."

Wow! Your speculation IS better! How about we speculate that actually Toyoda is STILL being held, what we are being shown is a robot?

Or to catch the momentum of recent movies, perhaps Toyoda projects his conciousness into the Avatar of Ray LaHood?

Seriously I agree with you. I'm NOT speculating as to Mr. Toyoda's life or what happens behind closed doors at Toyota. I'm just getting tired of the "speculation" that Toyoda should be appearing more in public. Not necessarily a valid idea, imo.

Thanks, I did not want to be rude especially to you but the ascent of Mr toyoda you described was much different than the one I remember. It will be interesting to watch his descent, and how all of that transpires. It will be almost impossible for him to step down in the Japanese culture.

This am I have now read "Mr toyota out of the closet" and about "Prii orgies", Priuschat is getting very spicy!

No one appreciates Toyota's issue like malorn. Isn't it pathetic ... that it takes a media blitz inferring Toyota is an instant death trap, before buyers consider switching over to GM. (shaking head)

Wow! Our cars can do that too!
Our cars are more advanced than I thought.

Hill c'mon now. You and I both know the amount of loyalty consumers have today. 10 percent are fanatical 25% are loyal, 10 % are disappointed and 60% buy whatever is the hot product. My percentages may be a little off but they are close, that 60% is the key. More than 50% of all camry owners also own a chevy or ford truck that they are pleased with, that is why this whole mess is going to hurt toyota beyond what most people can only fathom. This has the potential to be a watershed moment in the automobile business, obviously there are many wildcards, but almost anything is possible for Chevy and Ford right now.

i must be in the other 50%. one hycam, two prius, one dakota pickup. wanted to buy american since you can't really find a pickup with decent mileage. disappointing is the least of my problems with the dodge.

Now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever owned two cars from the same manufacturer: one each of Plymouth, Ford, Suzuki, Hyundai, Honda, Mitsubishi, Subaru, and Toyota. Some of them have been less perfect than others, but so far the Toyota's the best. I'd buy another, but we'll see what my needs are and what's available next time around. I'd call that smart shopping, rather than disloyal.

You are in the 60%, not disloyal but not loyal. Nothing wrong with being in the 60%.

I think your on shaky ground there, as a past owner of a Camry and Avalon. Toyotas are the pits when it comes to seat comfort. The interior of the Prius i had on order really was cheap looking and uncomfortable. I cancelled my order based on that feeling of cheapness and uncomfortable seating. Just my 2 cents worth

For a few years, my wife and I both owned Buick Regals. Other than that, we're 60%ers. I traded in my Regal for the Prius and she's expecting to trade in hers for, probably, a Fusion Hybrid. Still 60%ers.
